Football will be well represented at this year’s NSW Community Sports Awards set to be held on 30th June at CommBank Stadium.

2024 George Churchward recipient and Eurobodalla Football Association’s long serving administrator Sue Badenock Kinsey has been nominated in the ‘Distinguished Long Service Award’.

The 2024 season marked 50 years of involvement in football for Sue which began in March 1975 where she held several key football administrator positions in Sydney before moving to the South Coast in late 1988 where she formed a relationship with Eurobodalla Football Association and has held it ever since. Sue was one of the driving forces in ensuring football was played by all in the South Coast region.

Football will also be represented in two other categories with Macarthur Magic Special Needs Football Club nominated for an award in the ‘NSW Communities and Justice Community Club of the Year’. Macarthur Magic Special Needs FC provides an inclusive football program for kids and young adults in the Macarthur region who have a disability and cannot participate easily or at all in mainstream sport. In 2024 the club completed its twelfth season which also happened to be its largest ever with 136 registered players, both boys and girls aged from 6 years to young adults making them one of the largest inclusive football clubs in Australia.

While finally in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ category, Football NSW’s Club Standards and Benchmarking Framework has been nominated. The Club Standards & Benchmarking framework was introduced by Football NSW in 2024 in the areas of benchmarking, quality assurance and club support process to provide better services for the development of our representative players, coaches and Clubs across the state.
