Round 21 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition showed why the season is wide open in 2025.

We had some impressive results, shock scorelines and pulsating contests across our six games this weekend.

That was headlined by our Match of the Round between Marconi Stallions FC and South Coast Flame FC.

Let’s get onto the review!

Match of the Round: Marconi Stallions FC 4 defeated South Coast Flame FC 2

Marconi Stallions FC won 4-2 against South Coast Flame FC at Marconi Stadium #2 on Sunday afternoon.

The Stallions dug deep to get all three points and move themselves in a share of second spot on the League One Women’s ladder. Tsoler Nazarian headlined the win with a hat-trick while Marie Herrera fired home from the spot in the 88th minute for 4-2.

South Coast Flame FC will look back on their first half and wonder how they didn’t get anything from the contest. Abbey Crapp made it 1-0 in the 4th minute and Bessie Riethmuller restored their lead in the 32nd minute before the Stallions stampeded to victory.

Marconi Stallions FC and South Coast Flame FC walked onto Marconi Stadium #2 looking for three points and a clearer picture of their finals hope.

South Coast Flame FC wasted no time and made it 1-0 in the 4th minute. Abbey Crapp was threaded through and finished well.

Marconi Stallions FC responded with a chance from a set piece. Erinn Cleghorn curved wide of the mark from a corner.

Next, it was a free-kick from Marie Herrera which was swept home before the referee judged it to be offside.

The Stallions continued to challenge from set pieces. Sarah Urquhart unfurled a free-kick which was taken easily by South Coast Flame FC keeper Tahlia Sharrock.

Emily Kostovski had a pair of chances to extend the Flame’s lead. She sprung the offside trap twice and was denied on both occasions by Marconi Stallions FC custodian Isabella Sollecito.

Marconi Stallions FC levelled the game in the 27th minute. Urquhart released Tsoler Nazarian who tucked the ball into the corner for 1-1.

The Flame went close to restoring their advantage moments later. Crapp cushioned a ball for Chrystal Duggan who fired straight at Sollecito.

South Coast Flame FC made it 2-1 in the 32nd minute. Bessie Riethmuller produced a long range strike which went over Sollecito into the net.

The Flame burnt brightly in the first half. Molly Lawless cut inside near the box before she shot right at Sollecito.

The Stallions produced a second equaliser in the 43rd minute. It came from a set piece which was swept home for Nazarian for 2-2 and her brace.

There was almost a fifth goal in the action packed first half. Duggan had her shot cleared off the line then Alexis Malizis’ follow up was also brushed aside.

The game kept up the same pace in the second half. Duggan was on the end of a flowing move which fizzed wide.

The Stallions took their first lead of the game in the 57th minute. It was an instinctive finish from Nazarian who took a touch and rifled home for 3-2.

Flame pushed forward to try and get back into the game. Coach Daniel Naumovski rung the changes to bring energy.

Marconi Stallions weren’t content to sit on their lead. Substitute Helena Daniele thrashed wide from a corner.

Next, it was a deep free-kick from Shelby Milton which floated just past the left post and had the home crowd all standing.

Flame substitute Paula Mitchell went closest for the visitors in the second half. She whipped her shot past the post.

The Stallions made it 4-2 in the 88th minute from the spot. Substitute Sofia Sollecito was fouled then Herrera stepped up and fired home the penalty.

The hosts were able to see out the rest of the game comfortably and earn a precious three points which has them solidly in the top four.

Post match, Marconi Stallions FC coach Michael Beauchamp reflected on a big win for his side tonight:

“Coming from behind was good, we spoke about it at half-time then the girls showed their quality in the second half. There is plenty of games to go and we’re taking it one week at a time but this was a good response after last week.” said Beauchamp.

South Coast Flame FC coach Daniel Naumovski was blunt in his assessment of the game for his side:

“We didn’t take our chances in the first half, we should’ve been further ahead then we were quite poor in the second half which cost us.” Said Naumovski.
