Football NSW is proud to unveil the 2025 NAIDOC Cup playing jersey, designed by Kyara Fernando, a talented Indigenous artist from the Dunghutti Nation.

The striking artwork, selected by the Football NSW Indigenous Advisory Group, will be worn by players representing Football NSW at the upcoming NAIDOC Cup tournament, set to take place from 8–10 October on Guringai Land at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation in Narrabeen.

Kyara, originally from Kempsey and now based in Sydney, said she was honoured to contribute her artwork to a tournament that plays such an important role in celebrating Indigenous culture and community.

“The artwork created represents connection to Country with communities, land and pathways,” Kyara explained.
“It’s also acknowledging the history and living of culture through traditional knowledge passed on from bloodlines that gives strength and wisdom to the next generation.”

The new design will be officially unveiled on Day 1 of the NAIDOC Cup, where players will wear the jersey for the first time in what promises to be the biggest edition of the tournament yet.

Now in its fourth year, the NAIDOC Cup is a joint initiative between Football NSW and Northern NSW Football, celebrating First Nations culture, youth, and excellence through football.

The 2025 event will once again feature an Opening Ceremony, followed by two days of competitive matches across four divisions: U14 Girls, U14 Boys, U16 Girls, and U16 Boys.

Football NSW will be aiming to retain the prestigious NAIDOC Cup title for a fourth consecutive year, following triumphant campaigns in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

All eight matches will be streamed live and exclusive via the Football NSW YouTube channel, allowing fans and community members across the country to witness the cultural celebration and footballing talent on display.

The 2025 NAIDOC Cup promises to be a powerful celebration of identity, resilience, and sporting spirit — made even more meaningful through Kyara Fernando’s stunning jersey design that tells a story far deeper than the game itself.
