Round 4 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition promises a fascinating weekend of action on a Super Sunday. Across six contests, there are two derby matches and a mouth-watering Match of the Round between SD Raiders FC and South Coast Flame FC.


Match of the Round: SD Raiders FC vs South Coast Flame FC

Sunday 22 March, 3pm – Ernie Smith Reserve

SD Raiders FC host South Coast Flame FC in an exciting clash at Ernie Smith Reserve.

The hosts had a strong 4-2 win against local rivals Marconi Stallions FC last weekend. Abigail Boag and Taiana Almeida combined for three goals and will look to strike again. Goalkeeper Natasha Pentecost will be crucial in denying the league leaders.

South Coast Flame FC made it three wins from three with a 3-1 victory against Inter Lions FC. Cristina Barraza scored her first goal of the season, adding another attacking option. Coach Daniel Naumovski will aim to keep their momentum going.

Blacktown City FC vs Blacktown Spartans FC

Sunday 22 March, 5pm – Landen Stadium

The first Blacktown derby of the season sees Blacktown City FC take on Blacktown Spartans FC.

Blacktown City drew 1-1 against St George FC last weekend. Jessica Anand will be key in defence, helping her side secure points. They have four points from their opening three games and are primed for the derby.

Blacktown Spartans drew 0-0 with Camden Tigers FC last week. Deanna Caronna’s set pieces and Melina Visser’s pace down the wing will be crucial for the Spartans’ attack.


Newcastle Jets FC vs Central Coast Mariners FC

Sunday 22 March, 5pm – Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility

Newcastle Jets FC face Central Coast Mariners FC in the F3 derby.

The Jets were held to a 1-1 draw with Nepean FC last weekend. Substitute Mackenzie Preston-Poole opened the scoring, and the Jets will look to maintain their scoring form after netting 10 goals in three games.

Central Coast Mariners had a bye in Round 3. Eliza Familton scored a hat-trick in their 5-3 win over St George FC and will be looking to make an impact in the derby.


Nepean FC vs Marconi Stallions FC

Sunday 22 March, 5pm – Jamison Park Field 1

Nepean FC host Marconi Stallions FC in an intriguing matchup. The hosts drew 1-1 with Newcastle Jets last weekend, with Ruth Wigley scoring the equaliser.

Marconi Stallions lost 4-2 in their derby against SD Raiders FC. Pene Bonovas scored in the first half and will be looking to strike again. Tsoler Nazarian and Erinn Cleghorn are key attacking options for the Stallions.


Camden Tigers FC vs St George FC

Sunday 22 March, 5pm – Ron Dine Reserve

Camden Tigers welcome St George FC. The Tigers played a 0-0 draw with Blacktown Spartans last week, giving fans a first look at Kylie Ledbrook. Logan Garard and Danielle Bishop are also key to their attack.

St George FC drew 1-1 at Barton Park last weekend. Jordan Baker will look to open her account for the season after last year’s Golden Boot performance.


Bankstown City Lions FC vs Inter Lions FC

Sunday 22 March, 7:15pm – Jensen Park

Bankstown City Lions FC take on Inter Lions FC. The Lions lost 1-0 to Sutherland Strikers FC last weekend. Stephanie Ambrose leads the side while keeper Emilija Vidakovic may be called upon for key saves.

Inter Lions FC lost 3-1 to South Coast Flame FC but will use that performance as motivation. Kiara Coscia has been influential, scoring a goal and hitting the woodwork last week.


Sutherland Strikers FC have the bye this round.
