Make It Red for Heart Health Round in 2026

Football NSW is encouraging Clubs and Associations to ‘Make It Red!’ for Heart Health Round in 2026.

Held on the weekend of 5-7 June, Heart Health Round supports the Make It Red national awareness campaign developed by the Heartbeat of Football Foundation with the aim of bringing community attention to heart disease and sudden cardiac arrest.

While cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading single cause of disease burden and death in Australia (both men and women), it is largely preventable as many of its risk factors are modifiable.

How you can contribute to Heart Health Round

  1. MAKEITRED! Clubs and Associations who sign up to the MakeItRed campaign will be helping to fund research, education and preventative programs that will help save lives.

  2. Make positive choices: Heartbeat of Football and Football NSW are encouraging participants to make positive, healthy choices to support their sporting activities and to get a free heart-health screening test (particularly those aged over 35 years old) from your local GP.
Enquire about running a Heartbeat of Football testing day at your Club
  3. Make sure your Club is rescue ready: It’s important to ensure Clubs have active AEDs at their grounds. An active and accessible AED helps save lives in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. Check out the Football NSW and Heartbeat of Football Rescue Ready Guide for Clubs.

Find out more about the importance of defibrillators and how your Club can acquire AEDs on the Football NSW First Aid & Defibrillator page.
