Round 15 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition is another big weekend of action as teams build momentum for the second half of the campaign.

There are six games to run the rule over, including the Match of the Round between Blacktown Spartans FC and South Coast Flame FC.

Let’s get onto the preview!

Match of the Round: Blacktown Spartans FC vs South Coast Flame FC

Sunday 7 June, 5pm, Blacktown Football Park

Blacktown Spartans FC host South Coast Flame FC at Blacktown Football Park on Sunday evening.

The Spartans played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Inter Lions FC at Majors Bay Reserve last Sunday night.

Goal poacher Gemma Woolley scored both goals in the result and will once again lead the line for the Spartans.

This is a big game for the Spartans, who will want to pick up three points and put themselves back in the finals race.

South Coast Flame FC had a 1-1 draw against fellow finals contenders Marconi Stallions FC to open Round 13.

Emily Kostovski has featured in every game for the Flame this season and scored to take her tally to four goals for the season.

Sydney FC star Caley Tallon-Henniker returned to her former club last Saturday, and her experience will be vital to the side.

This game will be streamed LIVE on the Football NSW YouTube channel, with Marco De Paoli behind the microphone for a big game.

St George FC vs Central Coast Mariners FC

Sunday 7 June, 4:30pm, Barton Park

St George FC take on Central Coast Mariners FC at Barton Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Saints were 3-1 winners against Newcastle Jets FC on their travels to Lake Macquarie last weekend.

That was back-to-back wins for St George FC, who have started their march up the League One Women’s ladder.

Maya Perdikaris has started the last three games for the Saints and will be keen for a big performance back on home turf.

Central Coast Mariners FC had their fixture against Sutherland Strikers FC washed out due to heavy rain in the state last weekend.

Matilda Gallagher is a consistent presence in the Mariners setup and could be crucial to them getting a result on Sunday.

Another player who has been ever-present for the Mariners is Chloe Cattley, who will want to help the side surge up the ladder.

Nepean FC vs Blacktown City FC

Sunday 7 June, 5pm, Jamison Park Field #1

Nepean FC face off against Blacktown City FC at Jamison Park Field #1 on Sunday evening.

The hosts come off a 3-2 win against Bankstown City Lions FC in a thrilling contest at Jensen Park last Sunday.

Ellie Howard tallied two goals in the exciting win, with Nepean FC now nipping at the heels of the Jets in fourth spot.

Their other scorer was Eden Smith, Nepean FC’s leading scorer this season with five goals thus far and hungry to add to her tally.

Blacktown City FC were blown away in the first half in their 3-0 defeat to leaders SD Raiders FC in last week’s Match of the Round.

Amber Precious came on at half-time and helped shore up the Blacktown City FC side, who held SD Raiders FC scoreless in the second half, which will give them hope for this contest.

Alongside her, Molly Reckless captained the side in the defeat and can create moments at both ends of the pitch for Blacktown City FC.

Camden Tigers FC vs Inter Lions FC

Sunday 7 June, 5pm, Ron Dine Reserve

Camden Tigers FC welcome Inter Lions FC to Ron Dine Reserve for their clash on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers had a bye in Round 14, meaning they will be itching to get back on the field at home.

Eve Wilson was one of their goalscorers in their last game, a 2-2 draw against South Coast Flame FC, and will be looking to repeat the dose.

Alongside her, Ellie Lontis will be a headache for the Inter Lions FC defence with her work down the flank.

Inter Lions FC were held to a 2-2 draw against Blacktown Spartans FC at Majors Bay Reserve last Sunday.

Alyssa Walsh made a successful return to the scoresheet with the opener as Inter Lions FC took their unbeaten run to five games.

Coach John Di Biase has been pleased with their work as the side look to continue their surge up the ladder on Sunday.

Marconi Stallions FC vs Sutherland Strikers FC

Sunday 7 June, 5pm, Marconi Stadium #2

Marconi Stallions FC take on Sutherland Strikers FC at Marconi Stadium #2 on Sunday night.

The Stallions were involved in a 1-1 draw against South Coast Flame FC last Saturday afternoon in Kembla Grange.

Off-season recruit Kaitlin Kiparizov has been a huge asset for the Stallions and helped them consolidate their spot in the top four.

Captain Daniela Brekic popped up with a goal in the result, and her work both in defence and set pieces will be key for the Stallions.

Sutherland Strikers FC’s trip to Pluim Park was washed out due to the deluge of rain in NSW last weekend.

Ami Takitani has brought a spark for the Strikers since joining and brings energy to the side in the front third.

The Strikers have been solid at the back, thanks to the strong work of captain Dianne Wilson and Lara Coward.

Bankstown City Lions FC vs Newcastle Jets FC

Sunday 7 June, 5:30pm, Jensen Park

Bankstown City Lions FC take on Newcastle Jets FC in a fixture at Jensen Park on Sunday evening.

The Lions were beaten 3-2 in a thriller against Nepean FC in their game also played at Jensen Park last weekend.

Samantha Payne has been a big boost to the Lions side since her return in Round 11 and will be needed against one of the top attacking sides in League One Women’s.

Further up the park, Angelique Lynch is an option for Bankstown City Lions FC to find the back of the net and claim a big scalp.

Newcastle Jets FC lost 3-1 to St George FC in their first loss at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility last weekend.

Their lone goalscorer in the defeat was Mackenzie Preston-Poole, who has been a standout for the Jets this season.

The Jets have suffered back-to-back losses, which has them clinging to fourth, so coach Greg Hartge will look for a response on the road.
