Round 23 Preview – League Two Men’s
With squads refreshed by important mid-season transfers, the battle towards the run-in will continue to heat up in Round 23 of the 2026 Football NSW League Two Men’s season.
Match of the Round: Parramatta FC vs Granville Rage
Saturday, 11 July 2026 – 5pm, Melita Stadium
A local derby with big consequences for the fight for promotion sees Parramatta FC look to finally earn a win over their western Sydney rivals, Granville Rage, with both sides in the hunt for second this season.
Second-placed Parramatta FC extended their lead to four points in the race for second last week but will have to defeat Granville Rage for the first time in seven meetings if they are to maintain that advantage, with three new signings looking to make their mark. A win for Parramatta could see them extend that advantage to seven points, while a loss could see it reduced to just one.
Eighth-placed Granville Rage will hope to find consistency after their 1-1 draw with Dunbar Rovers FC last week, with four new signings hoping to bring Granville within four points of Parramatta in second. A win for Granville could see them rise to as high as third, while a loss could see them drop two spots to 10th.
Local derbies always bring a different type of energy, but with Parramatta winless in their past six head-to-head matches and Granville looking to shake up the race for promotion and gain an advantage in the fight, this one should provide more action than most.
Fraser Park FC vs Inner West Hawks FC
Friday, 10 July 2026 – 8pm, Fraser Park
Fifth-placed Fraser Park FC will hope to snap a three-match winless streak to get back on track in the fight for promotion, with four new signings hoping to make a difference, including the man who scored 24 goals in the 2024 season, Michael Trajkovski. A win for coach Arthur Alapidis’ Fraser Park side could see them rise to as high as third, potentially three points behind second-placed Parramatta FC, while a loss could see them drop to as low as ninth.
12th-placed Inner West Hawks FC snapped a five-match winless run after a 1-0 home win over Camden Tigers FC last week and will hope to get back into the mid-table mix with a win against Fraser Park. A victory for the Hawks could see them rise to as high as ninth, while a loss could see them drop a spot to 13th.
Mounties Wanderers FC vs Camden Tigers FC
Friday, 10 July 2026 – 8pm, Cook Park (Mt Pritchard)
League-leading Mounties Wanderers FC will look to take another step towards the league title and promotion, now a maximum of eight points away from that glory, when they host Camden Tigers FC with two new signings to strengthen the squad. A win for Mounties could see them move to within two points of the league title, while a loss would be just their third of the season.
Last-placed Camden Tigers FC will be out to cause the biggest upset of the season in this match, hunting just their second win of the year. With plenty of pride to play for, Camden will hope to be the story of the round with a win against Mounties.
Hawkesbury City FC vs Sydney University SFC
Saturday, 11 July 2026 – 5pm, David Bertenshaw Reserve
Sixth-placed Hawkesbury City FC will hope to respond to their first loss in seven matches against a Sydney University SFC side they are evenly matched against, with three wins each and a draw from their past seven meetings, both sides scoring nine goals in that time. Two new signings will hope to make their mark for Hawkesbury, with a win potentially taking them to as high as third and a loss potentially seeing them drop to as low as 10th.
Ninth-placed Sydney University SFC will hope to build on their four-match unbeaten run, looking to take their chances against the Hawks as they did in their 3-0 win in the reverse fixture. A win for University could take them to as high as fifth, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 12th.
Bankstown United FC vs South Coast Flame FC
Saturday, 11 July 2026 – 5pm, Padstow Park
14th-placed Bankstown United FC will hope to earn their first win in eight matches as they look to start a positive final stretch of the season. A win for Bankstown could take them to within a point of the teams above them, while a loss would keep them at least four points adrift of those teams in 14th.
10th-placed South Coast Flame FC won their first match in eight after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Central Coast United FC last week and will hope to earn back-to-back wins for the first time since Round 3. A win for the Flame could see them rise to as high as sixth, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 12th.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC vs Gladesville Ryde Magic
Saturday, 11 July 2026 – 7pm, Bonnyrigg Sports Club
Third-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC will hope to continue to be the leading chasing side for second, looking to hunt down Parramatta FC with a win against Gladesville Ryde Magic. A win for the White Eagles could see them close the gap to second to one point, while a loss could see them drop to as low as seventh.
13th-placed Gladesville Ryde Magic will hope to snap a run of back-to-back losses and shake up the race for promotion in the process, with three new signings hoping to make their mark. A win for Gladesville could see them rise to as high as ninth, while a loss would keep them in 13th.
Dunbar Rovers FC vs Central Coast United FC
Saturday, 11 July 2026 – 7pm, Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre
Fourth-placed Dunbar Rovers FC will hope to snap a three-match winless run, albeit all draws, when they host Central Coast United FC, a side they beat 5-1 in the reverse fixture. A win for Dunbar could see them rise to third, as little as two points behind second-placed Parramatta FC, while a loss could see them drop to as low as eighth.
Seventh-placed Central Coast United FC saw their five-match winning and nine-match unbeaten runs end last week with a 1-0 loss away to South Coast Flame FC but will hope to get back on track in the hunt for promotion with a win over Dunbar. A victory for the Pirates could see them rise to as high as third, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 10th.
11th-placed Nepean FC have a bye in Round 23.
