Roselands FC Recognised As August Club Changer Club Of The Month
Football NSW has named Roselands FC as its Club Changer Club of the Month for August, recognising the club’s outstanding commitment to creating a positive, inclusive and welcoming environment for players, officials, volunteers and supporters.
Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development Program, designed to support clubs in becoming stronger, more resilient and sustainable organisations while helping them plan for long-term growth and success.
Roselands FC’s recognition comes following the club’s continued work in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, highlighted through their successful Multicultural Program delivered at Bennett Park.
Football Canterbury CEO Trent Thomas praised Roselands FC for the way the club has embraced new initiatives and strengthened its connection with the wider community.
“Football Canterbury is pleased to see the effort and commitment given by the Roselands FC community in delivering, with Football NSW, this successful Multicultural Program at its home field, Bennett Park,” Thomas said.
“Roselands FC has a proud tradition of leading new initiatives and building on them for the benefit of all within community football — initially as a leader of female football, and now as a club seeking to grow its connections with migrant communities and all abilities participants.
“The success of the Multicultural Program is a fantastic example of how a community club can provide an activity that anyone within the community can enjoy.”
Roselands FC President Kylie Kegg said the recognition was a proud moment for the club and reflected the dedication of its volunteers, coaches, committee members and wider football community.
“On behalf of Roselands FC, I am incredibly proud to be recognised as the Football NSW Club Changer Club of the Month for August,” Kegg said.
“This recognition reflects the fantastic work the club has undertaken to support diversity, equity and inclusion, particularly through our involvement in the Multicultural Program.”
The program provided an opportunity for participants from a wide range of cultural backgrounds to come together through football, build connections and feel part of their local community.
Kegg highlighted the contribution of Chloe and Tom, who helped facilitate and manage the program, creating a welcoming and positive experience for participants and their families.
“The Multicultural Program provided an opportunity for people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds to come together, participate in football, build connections and feel part of the local community,” Kegg said.
“The strong response and growth throughout the program demonstrated the importance of creating accessible and inclusive opportunities for families who may not have previously been involved in organised sport.”
Roselands FC also hosted an end-of-program BBQ and provided goody bags for participants and their families, helping celebrate the success of the initiative while introducing families to the wider opportunities available through local football.
Beyond the program, Roselands FC continues to promote an inclusive club culture where players, families, volunteers and community members from all backgrounds feel welcomed, supported and encouraged to participate.
“We are proud of the diverse community we represent and remain committed to ensuring that football is accessible and welcoming to everyone,” Kegg said.
“We are honoured to accept this recognition and thank Football NSW for acknowledging the work of our volunteers, committee members, coaches and community members who have contributed to making these initiatives possible.”
Football NSW Program Manager for Club Development Trevor Huxley praised Roselands FC’s continued commitment to strengthening community football.
“It’s great to see Roselands FC go from strength to strength in the multicultural space, and being awarded the Club Changer Club of the Month is testament to all their hard work,” Huxley said.
