The next generation of officials will be leading the charge as 12 up and coming young NSW referees from various branches across the state have been handpicked for the upcoming National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour.

With the girls competition kicking off on the 19th of September and the boys on the 26th of September, the National Youth Championships provides an ideal opportunity for rising young referees to continue to develop their refereeing skills in a tournament environment.

Experienced Football Australia referee instructors and coaches, as well as current A-Leagues match officials, will provide training and coaching to these referees over the course of the tournament.

Football NSW Referee Education and Development Manager, Rob Nieuwenhuis, congratulated those selected, all of whom have come through the Football NSW Referee Academy.

“It will no doubt be a great experience for each of our referees attending. I’m confident each of them will represent Football NSW with pride over the course of the tournament.

“Congratulations to all of them.”
