Fraser Park FC Host Club Capability Workshop Focused on Game-Based Learning
Fraser Park FC recently hosted a Club Capability workshop delivered by Jack Rolfe, challenging coaches to rethink session design and how it can deepen the impact on player development.
Rolfe reinforced the principle that the game should drive the learning an approach aligned with the philosophy at Football NSW.
Coaches were encouraged to ensure training reflects the demands of match environments, using purposeful design elements such as constraints, pitch shapes, and player numbers to create meaningful learning moments.
The session also prompted technical staff to reflect on their coaching choices, particularly the balance between traditional drills and game-based, player-centred environments aligned with their club’s development principles and philosophy. A key question raised throughout was why coaches choose the methods they do, and how those decisions influence long-term player development.
Football NSW extends its thanks to Fraser Park FC for hosting the workshop, and to Jack Rolfe for delivering a session that challenged thinking and reinforced the importance of purposeful, game-based coaching in supporting player growth.
