Football NSW Winter Futsal Finals Deliver Thrilling 2026 Deciders
Football NSW hosted the 2026 Winter Futsal League Men’s Cup Final and Women’s League Grand Final last weekend, capping off a key competition in the organisation’s futsal strategy aimed at expanding year-round playing opportunities across both community and elite pathways.
The Winter Futsal League continues to grow as an important addition to the calendar, bringing together clubs from across NSW in a competitive winter format designed to strengthen participation and performance across the futsal landscape.
Men’s Winter Futsal Cup Final
Friday night’s Men’s Winter Futsal Cup Grand Final produced a thrilling contest, with the in-form Mascot Vipers edging out Mountain Majik 5-4 in a high-quality encounter.
The Vipers made a statement early, racing to a 4-0 lead at half-time in a dominant opening period where all players contributed to the scoresheet. Their intensity, structure and finishing proved too strong in the first half as they controlled the tempo of the match.
However, Mountain Majik refused to go away, producing a determined second-half fightback to turn the contest into a genuine thriller until the final whistle. Despite their comeback efforts, the Vipers held firm to secure a memorable victory.
Congratulations to the Mascot Vipers on claiming the 2026 Men’s Winter Futsal Cup.
Women’s Winter Futsal League Grand Final
Saturday night saw Mountain Majik complete a dominant campaign with a 4-1 Grand Final victory over UTS Northside, finishing their season undefeated.
Majik rose to the occasion in the biggest match of the season, with Clare Holder delivering a standout performance, scoring a hat-trick in another prolific Grand Final display.
UTS Northside fought hard throughout but were ultimately unable to break down a disciplined Majik outfit that maintained control when it mattered most.
Women’s Individual Awards
The Women’s Winter Futsal League also recognised outstanding individual performances across the season:
- Golden Boot: Catalina Wyrzynski
- Golden Glove: Samantha Fulwood
- Most Valuable Player: Chloe Gordon
Football NSW extends its congratulations to all participating players, coaches and clubs involved in the 2026 Winter Futsal League season.
The success of this year’s competition continues to build momentum for futsal in NSW, with anticipation already growing for an even bigger 2027 edition.
