Metropolitan Representative League Round 3 Review
These two teams have opened up a handy five point lead early in a very long season and their clash in Round 5 at Hajduk Stadium is looming as a highlight already.
The Under 11 Northern Conference saw Nepean overcome Blacktown to claim top spot in their conference over Granville and Eastern Suburbs, both only one point behind Nepean. A major highlight of the round was the fine win by Ku-ring-gai over the highly fancied Granville team in a high class match that had everything.
Macarthur are standing alone undefeated in the Under 12 Southern Conference with three wins from three starts following their win over Bankstown. In a very tight group Bankstown, Southern Districts and Sutherland are all looming just one win behind the talented Macarthur team.
While in the Under 12 Northern Conference Ku-ring-gai are on top at this early stage after a hard fought win over a gutsy Granville in a great game. This group is also very tight at this point with Granville, Manly-Warringah and Nepean sitting just one point behind the front running Macarthur.
The matches showing most promise in Round 4 this week are mainly in the Under 12 competitions where in the Southern Conference the top four teams are playing each other with Macarthur hosting Southern Districts and Bankstown travelling to Sutherland. In the Northern Conference leaders Ku-ring-gai make the trip to meet 2nd placed Manly-Warringah where they will attempt to remain atop the competition ladder.
