Sydney Olympic enjoy Socceroos experience

IGA National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1 club Sydney Olympic enjoyed their friendly hit-out on a chilly Wednesday evening at Belmore Sports Ground when the Blues went toe to toe with Holger Osieck’s Socceroos side.
The final result was 7-2 but the opportunity the Olympic players received playing against the likes of players such as Lucas Neill, Mark Milligan, Dario Vidosic, Aaron Mooy and Jade North to name a few was priceless.
The Blues held their own in the first half as the match was 2-2 at the break as goals from youngsters Amaury Gauthier and Zac Elrich cancelled out the Green and Gold’s first two via eventual hat-trick hero Mark Milligan and Craig Goodwin.
The second half hit and Olympic rang in the changes giving its young promising U20s players the chance to take on some of Australia’s best Hyundai A-League players and although the scoreline ended at 7-2, the game was all about the experience the players received.
Milligan completed a great evening as a former IGA National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1 player himself bagged three while goals to Vidosic and Michael Thwaite rounded up the rest of the scorers in front of a healthy crowd.
While across town current IGA National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1 league leaders Bonnyrigg White Eagles defeated Paul Okon’s Young Socceroos side 1-0.
