PCYC produce the Magic to topple the Eagles

Noticeably the two clubs that came neck and neck at the top of the Premier League Club Championship table were the two finalists in the big one, the Mens Premier League Grand Final and Sydney Magic came out on top in both. 
The game began slowly with both sides looking to establish their passing rhythm and not committing too much.

But the game exploded into life when Andreas Gomez eluded his marker by cleverly flicking the ball over his head then passed to Andrew Paine who slotted the ball past the keeper. 
The Eagles came back at the Magic and tried in vain to get an equaliser.
The task got even harder for the minor premiers when a mid court header found Ross Fazzalaro who swiftly turned his marker and buried the ball past the keeper to make it 2-0. 
The Eagles came storming back and peppered the Magic?s goal but the Magic were resolute in defence and nearly extended their lead when a long throw down court from Peter Spathis found Andrew Paine who nearly flicked the ball in for another goal.
The Eagles then just escaped receiving a Red Card when Billy Dimitropoulos broke free on goal and was clipped by keeper Matt Smith, but the ref gave the benefit of the doubt to the keeper on this occasion.
The game was swinging from end to end with the Eagles desperate to get on the scoreboard.
The Eagles were out of luck when Chris Zeballos struck the crossbar just before half time.
The Eagles went close at the start of the half when Brian Zeballos shot went narrowly wide.
The Eagles got the lifeline they needed when  Leo Carle fed the ball to Brian Zeballos who skipped inside the defender and found Chris Zeballos who slotted the ball home.
The Eagles continued to pile on the pressure and nearly equalised when Chris Zeballos forced a fine save from Peter Spathis.
The game took a turn for the worse for the Eagles when Andrew Paine broke free on goal and Matt Smith in goal came out and seemingly made a clean tackle but this time the Refs adjudged it as a cynical foul and red carded the keeper.
The Eagles had to use outfielder Brain Zeballos in goal. From this incident the Magic kept up a period of sustained pressure on the Eagles goal which eventually ended with Ross Fazzalaro burying his second goal of the evening into the back of the net to give the Magic a 3-1 lead.
The game raged from end to end in a classic encounter of attack and counter attack. The Eagles then grabbed a goal they deserved when Chris Zeballos scored to make it 2-3. 
The Eagles pressed hard for an equaliser and nearly scored when Caio Malafaia contrived to send his attempt on goal over the bar from three metres out.
The Magic?s Billy Dimitropoulos had a brilliant opportunistic shot from inside his own half hit the post and bounce to safety then Leo Carle nearly equalised again when his shot crashed against the crossbar.
The Magic sealed the win late on when Peter Spathis long throw down court found Andreas Gomez on the right who controlled the ball then crashed it past the stand-in keeper to make it 4-2 and send the Magic?s contingent into raptures of joy.
Magic coach Jamie Amendolia praised his side for defending their butts off throughout the game saying his defence did well in cutting off the supply to Eagles target men. 
He also said they changed their system this season to a more concerted effort of defence rather than relying on all out attack to get them through.
He said notably that gamebreaker Andreas Gomez had been in doubt all week with injury but luckily was just fit enough to make the game.
The result was very tough on the Eagles who?d played outstanding all season but it was hard to deny that the Magic deserved the win on the balance of play. Congratulations to both teams on a great final.
