The Bravehearts enjoy a seven-point lead at the top over nearest rivals Manly United and have scored 24 goals while only conceding six in their 10 matches so far while the Northern Beaches outfit is sitting on 16 goals for and nine against.
The hosts on Friday night have been in scintillating form, blowing a plucky 10-man Penrith off the park on their way to a 4-0 win last weekend while Manly United?s form has been building as the season progresses and is coming off a 2-0 victory over Bankstown at Cromer Park.
?There is no doubt they are the form team of the competition and deserve to be where they are,? Moss said.
?They are playing probably their best football in years and have experience right up the spine of their side.
?(Sydney United coach) Ante (Milicic) is doing a fantastic job in his first season and particularly as a player-coach. Having been in that role before I know it?s not easy but he has delivered early on.
?They will go in as red-hot favorites on Friday night but we?ll be turning up and having a crack.
?Having lead the comp around this time last year we know the pressure builds and there are some twists and turns to come yet.?
Manly United have injury concerns over a number of players with both midfielder Ashley Ryan and striker Robbie Cattanach forced from the field in last weekend?s victory over Bankstown while top marksman Craig Midgley is still recovering from injury and is unlikely to figure in the season?s first 1 v 2 clash.
Former Socceroo defender Matt Bingley (quad) and midfielder Scott Thomas (illness) are also locked in a race against time to take their places in the squad.
Big defender Spencer Prior though will be back from a 10-day trip to the UK for his testimonial match at Southend United.
?We have a few issues going into the match but what team doesn?t at this stage of the season,? Moss said.
?We?ll have no excuses when we step out for the match and whoever pulls on the Manly United shirt will be champing at the bit to play their part in what should be a great game of football.
?Like I said they are playing some very good football but like any side they have their frailties and we have some ideas on where we might be able to hurt them.
?There is a fair amount of belief and character in our dressing room and these are the games we love playing in.?
Kick-off at Sydney United Sports Centre is at 8.15pm on Friday night.
