Double header blockbuster at Gabbie Stadium as Tiger Turf Cup Quarter Finals heats up
Kicking off the evening?s proceedings will be TeleChoice Premier League outfit Blacktown City facing Super League side Fraser Park at 6.30pm.
Blacktown City will be hoping to put one foot in the door of the Semi-Finals when they entertain their Super League opponents in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
Demons coach Ken Schembri will no doubt call on the efforts of his ace players such as striker Adam Kwasnik, hard working midfielder Joel Chianese and the likes of experienced defenders Paul Karbon and Luke Casserly in getting a positive result.
As for Fraser, they have had a turbulent season thus far currently occupying the wooden spoon in the Super League but a victory over the Demons would certainly raise more than smile on the faces and fans at the club. Fraser coach Ramsin Shamon will be hoping that his players rise for the occasion with a Semi-Final spot looming.
Following this match, it will be a TeleChoice Premier League duel as Penrith Nepean United tackle Wollongong Community FC with kick-off set for 8.15pm.
Penrith Nepean United, under player/manager Ante Juric have been a rejuvenated squad since his appointment at the club. Juric?s first match in charge was against Wollongong during their round 17 TeleChoice Premier League clash in which they won 1-0, so the former Australian International is hoping for much of the same on Tuesday.
Wollongong CFC have had a tough year and are currently at the foot of the TeleChoice Premier League ladder so Glen Fontana would be pushing his chargers for a much needed win and a Semi-Final spot next weekend. They will have to do it minus their new star striker James Monie though who injured his hamstring in last weekend?s TeleChoice Premier League loss to the Marconi Stallions while a handful of other players are carrying slight knocks leading into the Penrith Nepean United clash.
The winners of both clashes will join the Sutherland Sharks and Manly United who won their Tiger Turf Cup Quarter Finals matches respectively.
The official Tiger Turf Cup Semi-Final draw will take place at Football NSW headquarters on Thursday July 9.
