State League Two Round 16 Preview
The home side will be confident come Saturday especially after their sensational effort last Saturday against Prospect which saw them pick up a crucial point away from home. Penang FC has yet to pick up a win this season and will be gunning for maximum points as they are already six points a drift from second last place. It will be an important game for the Bulls as they are chasing a top five spot so they can play finals football.
Hawkesbury City and Springwood will clash on Saturday 5.00pm at Benson Lane Field, in what will be an important game for both sides. Springwood has picked up consecutive wins to assure they stay off bottom place. Hawkesbury are in the top five and will be doing everything they can to keep their finals spot. Springwood will be tough competition as form is on their side. Hawkesbury will need to look to their experience come Saturday Night.
White City will entertain Hurstville City at Bonnyrigg Sports Club come Sunday 3.00pm, with Hurstville in equal third spot with Roosters this game will be vital. Bonnyrigg are drifting out of reach for a finals berth but on their day they can be a tough side to contend with especially at home. Hurstville will need to be alert when they travel to Bonnyrigg on Sunday as there is a lot on the line for that all important top five spot.
Gazy Lansvale will host Prospect united on Sunday at 3.00pm, a game which Prospect will want to win after their disappointing draw against Fairfield Last Saturday. Prospect saved a point from that game which showed a lot of character from a side that are capable of winning the competition in 2009. Gazy will need to produce a sensational performance at home if they want a good result come Sunday.
Colo Colo has a tough game on their hands on Sunday at Knight Park when they take on competition leaders Gladesville Ryde. The home side are in good form and are sitting in good position for finals however this will be the ultimate test as Gladesville will be high on confidence after regaining top spot this week. Gladesville will be gunning for three points to guarantee they stay on top spot.
Luddenham united and Roosters FC face off at Luddenham Oval on Sunday with Roosters in third position they will be gunning for points as they will want to maintain pressure on the top two. Luddenham will need to produce good form at home to prevail in this game; Roosters are a good side and will be using all their attacking abilities to gain maximum points.
Sydney Cedars are sitting outside the top five but have many games in hand, and come Sunday Bathurst will be standing in their way when the two sides meet at Punchbowl Oval. Bathurst is in good form and will be hoping their away form can help them prevail come Sunday. Sydney Cedars have played consistent football this year and will be hoping their current form will get them across the line.
Camden Tigers are hosting Hakoah on Sunday at Ron Dine Reserve and with the finals just around the corner Camden will need to prevail if they want to secure a top five spot. The home side will host a struggling Hakoah who have been inconsistent and will need to improve their game if they want a result. Camden played a great game against Gladesville despite going down 2-1, they have been a dangerous side in 2009 and if they will be hoping they can swing momentum their way come Sunday.
