Cheryl Salisbury Cup for U12 girls kick’s off this Tuesday at VSP

This Cheryl Salisbury Cup tournament has been introduced as part of the Talent Identification Program for Under 12 Girls and has attracted entries from Premier Youth, Super Youth, Western Branch and Southern Districts Association representative teams.
The Cup is named in honor of Cheryl Salisbury, who up until recently was sour Matildas Captain and amongst many achievements has played over 150 games for Australia and scored our first ever goal in the Olympic Games.
The teams taking part in the second year of the Cheryl Salisbury Cup are North West Sydney Koalas, Sutherland Sharks, Illawarra Stingrays, Northern Tigers, Central Coast Lightning, Penrith Nepean United, Western Branch, Macarthur Rams, St George, Blacktown Spartans, Southern Branch and Southern Districts Association.
An added attraction this year to emphasize the growing interest and participation in the women?s game the Football NSW State Under 14 team will participate in an exhibition match on Friday between the semi finals and the final of the competition.
This tournament should provide a feast of footballing talent and everyone is invited to Valentine Sports Park all this week to enjoy this prestigious tournament.
