In the Under 17 final between Queensland and Northern NSW talented NSW Women?s Premier League (WPL) Referee Ms Peta McCallum was appointed as the Referee for the match and was joined by fellow WPL official Ms Laura Elliott who acted as the 4th official.
In the Under 15 final between Queensland and NSW Metro fellow FNSW WPL official the FFA Elite Referees Coaches selected Ms Elizabeth Shorter as the match referee.  Fellow FNSW officials Ms Katie Patterson on one line joined her with Ms Sarah Priestley as the 4th official.
In addition to their appointment to the finals both Peta and Elizabeth received the ?Zurich Experience? from tournament sponsors Zurich Insurance.  The ?experience? enables the two recipients to join the officials at the Westfield Women?s League Semi-Final to experience the full W-League program.
Peta, Elizabeth and Laura have also been nominated as match officials for the 2009 W League season that is due to kick on 2 September 2009.
All of three of these officials are products of the PYL/WPL development program while Sarah Priestly referees in the Western Premier League from the Orange Branch.

The PYL/WPL Program has been an innovation of the FNSW State Referees Coach, Mr Steve Fenech and has been supported and developed by State Technical Committee members, Mr John Parker, Ms Sharon O?Neill and Ms Jenny Bray.  The program itself coaches, educates, develops and coaches referees and assistant referees in the elite junior leagues
