Football Stars of Tomorrow Episode Nine on Wednesday
The ninth installment will highlight the big TeleChoice Championship Series Grand Final between Sutherland Sharks v Marconi Stallions that was played at CUA Stadium in Penrith last weekend.
The Sharks ran rampant as they secured the 2009 Championship title with a 4-1 victory against the Stallions adding a second trophy into their cabinet for this season after taking out the TigerTurf Cup.
All the goals and action will be featured in this episode as well as interviews with Sharks coach Robbie Stanton and Stallions number one Lee Sterrey.
One of NSW?s up and coming stars Josh Da Silva is featured in the ?One to Watch? segment.
Currently playing with the NSWIS, the former Sutherland Sharks youngster has already represented Australia at Under 16 level as a fifteen-year-old and has been earmarked as a player to watch out for.
Idolizing Argentine legend Maradona, many pundits have suggested that Da Silva could be the next ?Tim Cahill? of Australian football.
Former England and Liverpool legend and current North Queensland Fury star Robbie Fowler will appear on the episode of Football Stars of Tomorrow and take part in the celebrity shoot-out. Fowler is joined by Fury keeper Justin Pasfield as well as the Australian Under 16 Indigenous squad.
?Goals for Grassroots? sees Newcastle based club Seahame Bowthorne Club put under the spotlight.
Receiving a cool $1,000 cheque from Hyundai, the club has 18 teams with 200 players all spreading the word of the round ball game.
In the ?Coaches Corner? segment Socceroo keeper Mark Schwarzer makes an appearance at Jim Fraser?s academy in Blacktown and gives some budding shotstoppers a few handy tips underneath the sticks.
This episode?s ?Star of the Week? is Austral Soccer Club?s Kevin Campbell. Situated in Sydney?s South West where there are as many as 44 teams at the club, Campbell is regarded as a local hero by many. He has been at the club for 12 years now and is a Life Member, Club Secretary and also coached three teams this year.
Also featured in this episode are the ?Goals of the Week? with entries from Daniel Bozic, Antony Lukic and Adrian Placko.
Socceroo and Palermo midfield ace Marco Bresciano also makes an appearance on the show as he is interviewed by Stephanie Brantz.
Joining the Italian club in 2006, Bresciano has stuck to his guns and has continued playing in one of the toughest leagues in the world, namely the Serie A.
Having knocked back playing for Italy to don the Green and Gold jersey, Bresciano has been one of the Socceroos? finest stars and will look towards giving it his all in South Africa in 2010.
Coming up in Friday?s edition of the final segment on Fox Sports for 2009, episode 10 will look back at the year that was and also highlight Football NSW?s new and exciting initiative Project 22.
