Barkhousir buzzing for goals galore

The speedy trickster was adamant that he was working on scoring more goals for the remainder of the season which served a warning to all NSW Premier League rival defensive units.
?I am really enjoying my football and I am glad that things have started off well for me and my team.
?The team is really buzzing and we?re slowly getting it together as we want to win as many things as possible this year.
?I worked really hard during pre-season in getting my sharpness in front of goal intact and so far it?s paid off but I know there is still a long road ahead of me, I know one of my aims is to claim the Golden Boot so we will see how we go.?
The 2009 Premiers are currently on 14 points, three behind current NSW Premier League leaders Blacktown City FC with Barkhousir believing that the Reds can go all the way.
?The team is gelling together slowly, we have been working hard at our game and results are slowly coming.
?It is a very competitive league this year but we have set our standards in hopefully winning everything on hand.?
There have been as many as seven new inclusions to the Reds squad with the likes of players such as Mirjan Pavlovic, Steven Hayes, Shane Lyons and Michael Cindric to name a few that have since made their presence felt in the Sydney United squad.
Barkhousir stated that these news faces have assisted in the club?s ascendency up the NSW Premier League ladder.
?For sure I think that the new players have settled in really well and this has showed with our performances.
?It does take a few matches to get things right when you have a new squad with fresh faces but I think we?ve done well and can only get better.?
The 24-year-old has credited Reds Player/Manager David Zdrilic as a prominent figure in his recent rise as a footballer stating that it was his decision to change his favoured position as a striker to right midfielder that has paid dividends.
?I have to point that out with ?Zdrilla? as he came up to me during the off-season and said that he believed I could play the right midfielder role perfectly and he has been right.
?If it wasn?t for him I may not have been in the position today as he gave me the opportunity to express myself and I have since taken that chance.?
Sydney United have an interesting round 8 clash this Sunday as they entertain cellar dwellers A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers at the Sydney United Sports Centre.
The Tigers have been buoyed by their first victory of the season when the defeated Sydney Olympic 3-1 during their round 7 tussle with Barkhousir believing this will not be an easy task.
?The Tigers will be motivated and will certainly be up for this match against us.
?Everyone seems to lift when they play us and I think the Tigers will make it very hard for us.
?It is our home game though and we are playing some great football so we will be coming out firing in trying to get those points to continue our good run.
?The team has been in high spirits this week at training so hopefully that takes us through to match day where we can do the business.?
Sydney United take on the A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers at Sydney United Sports Centre this Sunday at 4pm.
