Sydney, State, Robertson & Bill Cullinan Cups draw for 2010 released
The combined draw covers all age groups from Grade 11 to Grade 18 for the boys, Grades 21- Over 35 & All Age for the men and Grades 12-14-16-18 & All Age for the Women.
This year has seen a record 526 entries received for these tournaments, eclipsing the previous highest number of entries of 460 received in 2009.
Obvious increases can be seen in the Sydney Cup age groups (11-13-15-17 boys) where entries have increased from 61 in 2009 to 113 in 2010. In the 14 womens we have 26 entries (8 in 2009) and in the AA womens we have 33 entries (13 in 2010).
Sutherland lead the way with 84 entries from Southern Districts with 43 entries, however the exciting new Illawarra region is very well represented with 27 teams entered. Griffith has entered six teams in the Bill Cullinan Cup for AA Men and Dubbo have entered two teams in this competition. As well, Dubbo has also entered three teams in the AA Womens tournament.
Round 1 will commence on Sunday 9th May 2010 with 120 games across the Sydney Metropolitan area, the Illawarra region and at Dubbo and Griffith. Round 2 will be played on Sunday 23 May when over 150 games will be played before subsequent rounds on Sundays 6th June, 20th June and 27th June culminating in the Finals of all age groups on Sunday 18th July 2010 at Valentine Sports Park.
With six weekends of knockout football to be played with a record number of entries, the 2010 Sydney, State, Robertson & Bill Cullinan Cups tournaments should prove to be an exciting time for all players and supporters alike.
