The lavish event was held at the Botany Bay seafood restaurant Brighton Le Sands. Tickets were sold at $200 and included a three course meal.
Among the guests were federal and local politicians, local councillors and community leaders.
Former NSW Premier Morris Iemma hosted the evening.
As the night commenced, NSW Premier Kristina Keneally gave a powerful speech acknowledging the great work Cherie has done in the past 19 years. Cherie was instrumental in securing Kogarah Jubilee Oval this time last year as a backup plan if the Ilinden Sports Centre at Bicentennial Park was not ready for the commencement of the Premier League 2010.
The night ended with Rockdale?s Mayor Bill Saravinovski presenting the Key to the City of Rockdale, which was gracefully accepted by the Premier. Club president, Zak Agioski also presented Premier Keneally with a Rockdale City Suns jersey, which she said she would wear on her morning bike ride the following day.
