Crane and his relatively young squad have overcome fellow NSW Premier League sides Bankstown City Lions and Parramatta Eagles en-route to the semis, and the custodian is hoping is hoping his side carry their cup form into Wednesday night?s match at John Crehan Park.
?It?s been good to get a couple of wins on the trot, and now it?s a chance for us to win a trophy,? said Crane.
?A lot of players including myself don?t have the chance to do that too often so we?re very excited to play on Wednesday and try to get a result.
?We?re glad we got the draw down here (at John Crehan Park), so hopefully the Manly guys catch a bit of traffic on the way down,? Crane joked.
Wolves and Manly have already met once this season, playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Cromer Park in late May, in which late goals to Mark Picciolini and John Martinovski cancelled out Colin Iley and Justin Hayward?s earlier strikes.
Crane believes his side are well prepared for their upcoming fixture having experienced their opposition?s approach already this season.
?They?ve got an experienced side,? said Crane.
?They play a certain way, and we?ve just got to try and counter that and still play our passing game in the meantime.
?We?ll try to get on top of them early and it?d be good to try play a game where we don?t concede a goal and rather than play catch up just to get in front would be good.
?We had a draw with them in the league and felt we could have won that game ? they probably felt the same ? so pretty even teams.
?It?s just up to us to show up and get the three points ? not the three points actually, but the W.?
Crane refused to be drawn into speculating on a potential final clash against either Mounties Wanderers or Blacktown Spartans, shifting focus to the semi final at hand.
?Before we start looking at those guys we?ll have to worry about Wednesday first,? said Crane.
The Wolves? custodian also took the time to praise the performance of the youngsters that have stepped into and established their places in the first team throughout Wolves NSW Premier League and Waratah Cup campaigns.
?I know myself when I made my early debut I was with the experienced guys and that helped me a lot,? said Crane.
?These guys making their debut and playing their first five-six games together as young kids, they?re doing really well.
?The endeavour?s there, they?re trying really hard.
I think their decision making is improving with the more games they?re playing so it?s only a positive future for the players and the club,? Crane added.
South Coast Wolves v Manly United kicks off at 7.30pm at John Crehan Park, Cringella this Wednesday, June 29th.
Elsewhere Mounties Wanderers host Blacktown Spartans in the other semi final in the same time slot at Cook Park, Mount Pritchard.
