If you thought the competition had finally settled down and the so-called “shock” results had come to an end, you had better have a close look at the result of this weekend as they once again prove that this year’s competition is the closest for many a season, adding much to the quality of play and entertainment on display each and every week.

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Overview (G12-G18)

Bonnyrigg White Eagles must have been reasonably pleased to have collected twelve points from the clash with Sydney United 58 and Manly United would have been happy to have taken eleven points from their visit to Central Coast Mariners.

Sydney Olympic claimed eleven points from their home matches against South Coast Wolves while Blacktown City earned ten points when they hosted old rivals Marconi Stallions.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers pocketed nine points from their home clash with Rockdale City Suns while Sutherland Sharks and Blacktown Spartans shared the spoils at eight points apiece.

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Club Championship

Sutherland Sharks arrived at this weekend at the top of the table and they were up against second placed Blacktown Spartans. At the end of the day the Sharks and the Spartans shared the points equally, taking five points each from the day. That allowed the Sharks to hold onto the top spot and pushed the Spartans back to third position.

Blacktown City started the day in third place and they hosted eighth placed Marconi Stallions. When Blacktown grabbed seven points from the day they promptly moved up to second place on the ladder and Marconi dropped back to ninth.

Manly United began the weekend in fourth position as they made the trip to Central Coast Mariners who were in twelfth place on the table. Although they took seven points from the four matches, Manly have slipped back to fifth place on goal difference while the Mariners are still at the foot of the table.

Placed fifth before a ball was kicked, APIA Leichhardt Tigers played host to eleventh placed Rockdale City Suns. When they Tigers claimed seven points it was enough for them to move up to fourth place on goal difference while the Suns used their share of the points to remain at eleventh.

Sydney Olympic came into this round in sixth spot and they welcomed tenth placed South Coast Wolves. Olympic remained at sixth when they secured seven points from the four matches while the Wolves have retained tenth position.

Sydney United 58 were in seventh position on the table when the weekend began and they paid a visit to ninth placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles. When Bonnyrigg claimed nine of the points available from the day they moved up to seventh while United are now eighth.

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Grade 12

Before the first whistle sounded, Manly United were the competition frontrunners on goal difference after they had registered a run of seven wins from as many games and they faced twelfth placed Central Coast Mariners who had recorded a draw on the opening day of the season followed by a string of six losses on the trot. Manly extended their run of success to eight wins when they posted a 1-0 victory and that has left them at the top of the table. The Mariners have remained in twelfth position.

Blacktown City came into this match in second place on goal difference and they also had the perfect record of seven wins from seven games. They hosted eighth placed Marconi Stallions who had posted three wins, two of which came from their last two outings. City made it eight from eight when they were 5-1 winners this week and that has kept them in second position while the Stallions have slipped back to ninth.

Blacktown Spartans were in third position at kick-off time and they were only two points behind the front two as the Spartans had lost only once from their eight matches. Sutherland Sharks were six points further back at fourth after they four match winning streak had been broken by a draw followed by losses in their two most recent games. The Spartans held onto third position following their 1-1 draw and the Sharks have remained at fourth. Scoring the goal for the Spartans was J. Carluccio while B. Raatz found the net for the Sharks.

Placed fifth when the first whistle sounded, South Coast Wolves had taken points from their last five games with two draws and three wins. Sydney Olympic were in eleventh position and they had lost their last three matches. When the Wolves produced a 2-1 win they were able to remain at fifth and that has meant that Olympic have stayed at eleventh.

Rockdale City Suns were in tenth position and after a run of six consecutive losses they had recorded a draw and a win from their last two games. The Tigers are still sixth even though they suffered a 1-0 loss to the Suns who have remained at tenth.

Sydney United 58 started the weekend in seventh place and they were coming off a last match loss while Bonnyrigg White Eagles were three points further back and they had lost their last two games. On this occasion Bonnyrigg claimed the points when they won the match 2-1 and immediately moved up to eighth while United are still seventh.

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Grade 13

Sutherland Sharks were the competition leaders by a margin of three points at kick-off time after they had claimed all the points from their seven matches while Blacktown Spartans were in fourth place and they had returned to the winner’s circle last week following a run of two losses and a draw. However, this week the Spartans produced a sensational 6-1 victory after leading the game 4-0 at the interval. That has caused the Sharks to not only taste defeat for the first time this season but also to drop back to second position while the Spartans are still to be found at fourth. The goals for the Spartans were scored by J. Percevski (3), G. Sacco, R.Mehinovic and R. Dominici and finding the net for the Sharks was J. Keremelevski.

Blacktown City arrived at this match in second place and they were yet to be beaten after playing seven matches. Their opponents were fifth placed Marconi Stallions who had tasted defeat for only the second time this season when they lost last week’s match. When City defeated the Stallions with a 1-0 scoreline they were able to claim the top spot on the ladder while Marconi are now placed seventh.

Sydney Olympic started the weekend in third position and they had not lost a game in the five most recent outings while South Coast Wolves were seventh after they had posted four wins and two draws from their last four matches. Olympic managed to hold onto third place when they recorded a 2-1 win and that has pushed the Wolves back to ninth.

Manly United came into this match in sixth spot and they had taken points from their last four games and they faced tenth placed Central Coast Mariners who had lost their last four matches. Manly came up with a goal in the second half to claim the points with a 1-0 result, leaving them at sixth and the Mariners at tenth.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers kicked off this match in eighth place and their most recent form involved three draws and three losses after winning their first two matches. Rockdale City Suns were in twelfth position and they had posted only one win from their nine matches. The Tigers secured the points with a 3-0 scoreline this week and they are still in eighth position with the Suns remaining at tenth.

When the first whistle sounded Sydney United 58 were in ninth place with a draw and a loss coming from their last two games while Bonnyrigg White Eagles were in eleventh position with two wins from their nine matches. United produced a very strong 4-0 victory on this occasion. United also faced the thirteenth placed Football NSW Institute who had recorded one draw from ten matches. United continued their successful weekend with a 2-1 win over the Institute. This ahas meant that United have shot up to fifth position, have remained at eleventh and the Institute are still thirteenth.

 

IGA NSW National Premier League Men’s 1 – Grade 14

Sydney Olympic had a lead of four points at the top of the table when this week’s match kicked off after they had collected seven wins and a draw from their nine matches while South Coast Wolves were in thirteenth place with just one draw to show for their seven games. Olympic extended their competition lead to six points when they recorded a 2-1 win with all the goals coming in the first half. The Wolves have remained at the foot of the table. .

Blacktown Spartans came into this round in second spot after they had recorded six wins from nine matches and they were up against third placed Sutherland Sharks who had not tasted defeat in their last five games. The Sharks continued their run of success with a 2-1 result and that has caused the teams to swap places on the ladder. Sutherland’s goals came from T. Nunn and H. Callahan while G. Gray netted for the Spartans.

Central Coast Mariners were in fifth place at kick-off time and they had taken points from their last three games with a draw followed by two wins. Manly United were in tenth position and they had earned points from their last four outings thanks to a win being followed by three consecutive draws. When this match ended in a scoreless draw the Mariners retained fifth place and Manly held onto tenth place.

Placed sixth on goal difference when this game started, Blacktown City had posted two wins and a draw from their three most recent matches while Marconi Stallions were in twelfth position and they had lost their last four games. Marconi came up with a 1-0 victory to break they run of losses but they have remained at twelfth while City have drifted back to seventh.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles arrived at this week’s match in seventh spot and their recent form included a draw followed by two wins in the last three games. Sydney United 58 were in eleventh place after suffering losses in their last four matches. When the White Eagles were 2-1 winners they moved up to sixth place and that left United at eleventh.

United also faced the fourth placed Football NSW Institute who saw their run of three draws come to and end with last week’s loss. The Institute retained fourth position when they came from behind to register a 1-1 draw with United.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers started the weekend in eighth place and they had taken points from three of their last four matches while Rockdale City Suns were one point further back at ninth and they were coming off a loss in their last game. The Tigers and the Suns remained exactly where they were in the table after they battled out a 1-1 draw.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers kicked off this week’s match as the competition leaders by a margin of a single point and they were coming off a draw and a win in their last two games while Rockdale City Suns were in eleventh position and they had lost two of their last three games. The Tigers produced a strong 4-0 victory this week to retain their place on the ladder thanks to goals from M. Lee (2), C. Abou-Serhal and M. Nezval. The Suns are still in eleventh position.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles arrived at this match in second spot after winning five of their seven games and seventh placed Sydney United 58 had started the season with three straight wins but then they lost three of their last four outings. Bonnyrigg went on with the job when they registered a solid 4-0 success to remain at second while United are still placed seventh.

United also faced the ninth placed Football NSW Institute who had lost their last three matches and there was some good news for them in this match as they came out of it as 1-0 winners but it did not affect the position of either team on the ladder.

Blacktown City were in third place at kick-off time and they had won their two most recent matches while Marconi Stallions were right behind them at fourth on goal difference and they had won four of their last five games. Both teams remained exactly where they were on the ladder after they battled out a 1-1 draw.

Blacktown Spartans came into this game in fifth place after they had seen their five match unbeaten run come to an end with last week’s loss. Sutherland Sharks were just one point further back and placed sixth after they had lost their last two matches. When this week’s match ended in a scoreless raw both teams retained their place on the table.

Placed eighth when this game kicked off, Sydney Olympic had broken a three match losing streak with a win last week while South Coast Wolves were in thirteenth position with only one draw coming from their seven games. The Wolves posted their first win for the season with a 1-0 result but it was not enough to lift them off the bottom of the table while Olympic have remained at eighth.

Central Coast Mariners started this match in tenth place after they had broken a five match losing streak with wins in their last two matches while Manly United were only one point further back at twelfth and they had earned points from two of their last three games. The teams remained where they were on the ladder after the Mariners registered a 4-3 win in an absolute thriller.

Central Coast Mariners had a competition lead of just one point when this week’s match kicked off and they had lost two of their last three outings while Manly United were in tenth position after losing their last two games. When this match ended in a scoreless draw the Mariners drifted back to second place while Manly are now eleventh.

APIA Leichhardt Tigers arrived at this game in second place after they had taken points from their last four games and Rockdale City Suns were placed ninth with losses coming from their last two matches. The Tigers fell back to third when they were held to a 2-2 draw after leading the game 2-0 at the break. The Suns are still in ninth position.

Coming into the weekend in third place, Sydney Olympic had won six of their eight games while South Coast Wolves were in seventh spot and they had produced wins in their two most recent matches. Olympic came up with a 4-1 victory and that proved to be enough to lift them to the top spot on the table and it has left the Wolves at seventh. The goals for Olympic came from M. Trajkovski (2) and M. Petrie while M. Lappin netted for the Wolves.

Blacktown City were in fourth position at kick-off time and they had earned points from their last three games while Marconi Stallions were in thirteenth place with just one draw coming from their nine matches. City retained fourth place when they were 5-1 winners over the Stallions who are still at the foot of the table.

The Sharks jumped into eighth place when they were 1-0 winners over the Spartans thanks to a goal from D. Akol. The Spartans have remained at sixth.

Sydney United 58 were in eighth place before a ball was kicked after their three match unbeaten sequence came to an end with last week’s loss. Bonnyrigg White Eagles were in twelfth position and they had produced only two draws from their nine matches. Bonnyrigg raised an eyebrow or two when they recorded a 1-0 win but they have remained at twelfth but United have slipped back to tenth.

On Wednesday night United will meet the fifth placed Football NSW Institute who had taken points from their last three matches with a win and two draws.

Blacktown Spartans started the weekend as the competition frontrunners by a margin of two points after they had bounced back from their only loss a fortnight ago to post a win last week while Sutherland Sharks were in eleventh position and they were coming off a last match draw.  The Spartans have extended their competition lead to four points after they posted a 3-1 victory this week thanks to goals from C. Evans (2) and J. Douglas and the goal for the Sharks came from C. Belle.

Blacktown City were in second spot when this match kicked off following their unbeaten run of five matches and Marconi Stallions were in sixth place with two wins and a draw coming from their three most recent games. City slipped back to third place after they suffered a 1-0 loss to the Stallions who are still sixth.

Sydney Olympic came into this match in third position and they had posted draws in their last two matches while South Coast Wolves were in eighth place thanks to wins in their last two outings. The teams battled out a 1-1 draw this week and that has caused Olympic to drop back to fourth while the Wolves have fallen back to ninth.
