The battle for that last finals spot heats up while the two bottom teams are still searching for their first wins of the season.
The Marconi Stallions travel to the Central Coast Mariners Academy on Sunday afternoon at 1pm. The Stallions look to stay atop of the league with a win while the Mariners will be searching for a victory at Pluim Park to start their ascension up the league ladder.
At ELS Hall Park 2, the North West Sydney Koalas in third place take on the Inter Lions who lie in fifth place on Sunday at 3pm. A victory for the Lions will see the leap over the Koalas, while the Koala’s will be looking for a win to keep pace with the league leaders.
A real battle and derby game will be held at Harrie Denning Centre at 3pm on Sunday between the two bottom sides the Sutherland Sharks Football Association and Northern Tigers. Both teams are searching for that elusive first victory of the season and it will prove to be a real gritty affair.
At Lynwood Park On Sunday at 3pm the Macarthur Rams who lie in fourth take on seventh placed Many United. The Rams didn’t play last week and will still be smarting from their loss two weeks ago to the Illawarra Stingrays. Meanwhile, Manly will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to four games.
At Northbridge oval on Sunday afternoon at 3pm, eighth placed Northbridge FC take on the high flying Illawarra Stingrays who lie in first. Two massive results in the past two weeks have catapulted the Stingrays into top place on the ladder. They’ll be looking to continue their run and stay on top of the league with a win against Northbridge whose finals hopes are slipping away.
On Sunday at Wilson Park at 3pm, sixth placed Sydney University will be looking to jump into the top five with a win against the ninth placed Blacktown Spartans who are clinging onto their finals aspirations.
With the half-way point upon us, this week’s games will prove to be interesting as the competition ladder begins to take shape and the battle for the minor premiership hots up.
