It was a monumental experience for the Football NSW Institute U14 Boys and Girls who had the pleasure of watching the Australian Socceroos side go through its paces one last time prior to Holger Osieck’s men qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with a nail-biting 1-0 victory at ANZ Stadium.
The lucky onlookers along with their head coaches Arthur Diles (14 Boys) and Jamie Gomez (14 Girls) had the chance to watch Osieck’s men train in what was a once in a lifetime experience that all players shared at ANZ Stadium on Monday 17th June.
Football NSW Technical Director Alex Tobin was delighted to have seen the many smiles across the players faces watching their superstars in action.
“It was a privilege for these young players to have been part of the Socceroos’ final match preparations before their big match against Iraq which ultimately ended in jubilation with Australian qualifying.
“I know they were all in awe of watching their favourite players in full motion and I am sure it will leave a long lasting memory with all of them in years to come.”
All players rubbed shoulders with the Socceroos as they each got autographs and photos taken with their World Cup heroes.
