IGA NPL NSW Grade 20s Round 15 Preview

20s_04

The Grade 20s competition is beginning to take shape as the competition enters the business end of the season.
Marconi Stallions can get to within a point of top of the table Rockdale City Suns with the right result, whilst a glut of mid table teams will be hoping to break free of the pack as we head towards the final weeks.
SATURDAY
Central Coast Mariners Academy vs Sutherland Sharks, 4.30pm at Pluim Park
Central Coast Mariners Academy and Sutherland Sharks are separated by only a point heading into this Round 15 fixture.
CCM Academy could leapfrog Sutherland with a win here, and with a game in hand, such a result would put them right back into the mix for a top five result, given their recent good form.
Sutherland meanwhile are also in the mix, but after a 0-0 draw with APIA Leichhardt Tigers, they may well need to rediscover some attacking brio in order to be considered serious contenders.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles vs Manly United, 5pm at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre
Bonnyrigg have struggled this season and were easily beaten by CCM Academy last weekend.
Although they have home ground advantage, they will face a very stern test against resurgent Manly United, who have proven their capabilities on numerous occasions this season.
Sitting fourth, a win here would catapult them into the mix for the top few places.
South Coast Wolves vs Marconi Stallions, 5pm at Hooka Creek Park
South Coast Wolves gained a credible 2-2 draw with Sydney United 58 FC last weekend, but they were 2-0 up and probably should have closed out the victory.
They face a huge test against second placed Marconi Stallions, who defeated top of the table Rockdale City last Sunday and will be looking for a win to drag them ever closer to the Suns.
SUNDAY
Sydney Olympic FC vs Sydney United 58 FC, 1pm at Belmore Sports Ground
This clash between two great rivals is tempered by the fact that Sydney Olympic’s struggles sees them at the foot of the table.
Sydney United 58 meanwhile, have hit a rocky patch and have slipped to seventh on the ladder and badly need a win this weekend to regain some momentum in their push for the finals.
Rockdale City Suns vs Blacktown Spartans, 1pm at Ilinden Sports Centre
Rockdale City Suns sit on top of the table, four points clear of Marconi, who have a game in hand. It is imperative that they bounce back from their defeat at Marconi Stadium to keep the pressure on the chasing sides.
Spartans are always formidable opposition though and are definitely a threat to both Rockdale City and the rest of the competition.
Blacktown City FC vs APIA Leichhardt Tigers, 1pm at Lily Homes Stadium
Blacktown City FC are another in the mid-table mix, but unlike some of their rivals, they have played all of their 14 matches thus far.
They host third placed APIA Leichhardt Tigers, who drew 0-0 with Sutherland last week but have shown themselves to be tough competition both at home and on the road.
