FIFA Official and female advocate for the world game, Moya Dodd capped off an outstanding 2016 and was announced as the most influential Woman at this year’s 100 Women of Influence Awards staged at the Sydney Town Hall on Thursday 27th October.

This comes off the back of Dodd being rewarded for her outstanding services after also taking out the category of Sporting Influence’s at the ‘Women’s Health I Support Women in Sport Awards’ held last month.

The former Matildas vice-captain, board member of Football Federation Australia, the International Council for the Arbitration of Sport, and the first female Vice President of AFC, Moya is one of only three women to have served on the FIFA executive committee, leading the women in a FIFA campaign for gender equality during the recent FIFA reform process.

Dodd’s campaigning covered women’s right to attend stadiums in Iran and wear headscarves when playing football.

Outside of sport, Moya has practised at King & Wood Mallesons, was general counsel for Telstra’s Multimedia subsidiary for cable rollout and pay TV, and vice president of economic consulting firm CRA International.

Success in the 100 Women of Influence Awards is not dependent on the seniority or scale of a nominee’s role. Rather, it is about recognising quality and impact and Dodd did just that.

Football NSW would like to congratulate Moya Dodd on yet another well-deserved accolade.
