Football NSW grassroots clubs enjoy a visit from Liverpool Legends
Liverpool FC Legends Craig Johnston, Gary McAllister and Jason McAteer were on hand to assist as special guests at last weekend’s RMF Foundation run community tournament amongst other visits which featured a number of Football NSW grassroots clubs from across the state.
In Fairfield, Liverpool FC showcased a community tournament and coaching clinics respectively with the assistance of Liverpool FC legends and coaching staff. Boys and girls aged 8 to 18 years’ old enjoyed the opportunity to show off their skills in front of the Liverpool FC legends.
The trio of Johnston, McAllister and McAteer joined the grassroots clubs and charities singing the euphoric ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone” anthem with the players in what were special scenes.
Football NSW football4All programs also indulged in the expertise of the Liverpool FC coaching staff on Sunday with special clinics run by Liverpool FC coaches. Players from the St George Warriors, Hills Knights Kickaroos and Balmain Districts Football Club All Abilities enjoyed the session run by the English Premier League giants.
The Reagan Milstein Foundation is all about providing football opportunities to kids that would not usually have these memorable opportunities.
Kevin Milstein, founder of the Reagan Milstein foundation, enjoyed providing the opportunity for the Football4All programs.
“When the invitation came from Liverpool FC to work with them again in providing clinics for kids I immediately thought of All Abilities as an area that would appreciate the chance.
“Watching the Liverpool FC coaches work with the All Abilities kids was immensely satisfying, the kids loved it and they especially loved the Liverpool FC and Reagan Milstein Foundation gifts handed out to them at the end.
“What struck me even more was the overwhelming gratefulness from the parents that we had included their kids in a Liverpool FC event.
“It humbled me.
“I am so proud that, together with Liverpool FC and Football NSW, the Reagan Milstein Foundation could make a difference to these family’s lives and provide them with some joy.”
