We have three matches to finish out round 14, as teams continue to jostle for finals positions in an exciting weekend of NPL 2 NSW Women’s action.

Match of the Round: Bankstown City Lions vs Gladesville Ravens

Played on Tuesday evening. Match report to be included in the round review.

Inter Lions vs Central Coast Mariners, Sunday 16th July, 3pm, Concord Oval

In their first home game under Danny Abboud, Inter Lions look to knock off finals chasing Central Coast Mariners at Concord Oval Sunday afternoon.

It was an improved performance from the Lions in a gallant 3-1 defeat to Sutherland Shire FA while the Mariners triumphed with the same score-line against the Stallions.

Melissa Parlato was energetic in her performance for Inter Lions as she bagged a goal and will look to link with Sarah Mandile to unlock a stubborn Mariners defense.

For the visitors – they sit four points from fourth so Mark Yule’s side need to continue winning to keep their slim finals chances alive starting with an enticing game this weekend.

Marconi Stallions vs Sydney Olympic FC, Sunday 16th July, 3pm, Marconi Stadium

The Sydney Olympic scoring express rolls through south west Sydney as they face a beleaguered Marconi Stallions this weekend at Marconi Stadium.

Olympic FC were on the winning side of a five-goal thriller against Bankstown City Lions while the Stallions suffered a heavy defeat to Central Coast Mariners which dented their finals hopes.

After Nepean FC leaped above them into the last finals position, a bare bones Marconi Stallions side has to contend with the top scoring attack in the league.

With regards to Sydney Olympic FC – they have a four point buffer and look primed with both Danielle Calvi and Madelaine Costazno in form to engage in an open contest on Sunday afternoon.

Southern Branch FC vs Sutherland Shire FA, Sunday 16th July, South Nowra Football Complex

Fresh from their weekend off, Southern Branch FC welcome second place Sutherland Shire FA to Nowra for the final fixture of Round 14.

These two sides featured in our Match of the Round back in round five as Sutherland Shire thrashed Southern Branch FC 9-1 headlined by Raegan Deeley’s four-goal performance.

South Nowra Football Complex has remained a mystery for some traveling teams as Southern Branch has produced some impressive results. Georgia McDonnell enjoys the surface with all six of her goals coming at home.

Sutherland Shire FA has some injury issues to deal with but the impressive work of Brittany Christie makes the forward suitable replacements.

Nepean FC has the bye
