The experience of Norm Boardman is second to none in the PlayStation 4 NPL NSW Women’s competition and he brings that to the Macarthur Rams.

Boardman and his side have already lifted the Premiership but want to go a step further and be victorious in this Sunday’s Grand Final at Valentine Sports Park to bring the long-awaited Championship home.

It is a trophy that has eluded them over past seasons but the coach and the Rams are looking to change that this weekend against Manly United.

Despite already securing first place, Boardman isn’t yet entirely pleased with his team’s performance.

‘It’s been a patchy season, we really haven’t played to our full potential for a whole 90 minutes and that’s a tough ask for anybody.

‘I keep saying the same thing, if we play to our full potential for the whole 90 minutes then we’ll win it.’

The Rams missed Boardman’s experience against Manly in the Qualifying Final last week as united cemented their place in the big one with a come from behind win.

‘I didn’t see the game last week but I’ve been given plenty reports and seen some clips and they’re a good young side who’ll back themselves to run us into the ground but we’ve got strategies for that.’

It’s tough for any coach to gel a side together but the Rams team has a great mix of younger and older, more experienced plyers.

‘The older players help the young players in terms of standards.

‘People like Leena Khamis don’t easily live with second best and even in her own game she doesn’t live with second best and I think that’s a good culture to have at the club so the young ones coming through are learning from the older ones.’

Some of those youngsters are already making massive strides in the first team, in particular Rosie Galea.

‘Rosie Galea is one with a lot of potential, she’s had a brilliant year this season.

‘I also see Natasha Aitken, she was on the bench today and she’s got a big future ahead of her at this club, Kirri-lee Cameron along with others in our reserve grade.’

In terms of Manly, Boardman highlights one player as a major threat to his side in a quality opponent.

‘Remy Siemsen.

‘She’s a good player and a great kid, a perfect person to coach I would reckon, she’s got good talent, a great character, good technique.

‘But we won’t need to so much worry just about Remy but the whole lot.

‘They’re a unit and a spirited club, a well-structured outfit.’
