Chloe Gray Recognised at Female Football Awards
Football Federation Australia annually hosts the Female Football Awards in alliance with International Women’s Day, which provides an opportunity for member federations to recognises individuals within both elite and grassroots aspects of our game in playing, coaching, officiating and also administrator roles. The event also celebrates the importance of women and their contribution which they provide to our game.
This mornings function saw one of Football NSW own in Chloe Gray from the Macarthur District Football Association be awarded the Community Referee of the Year, from amongst countless nominations provided. Chloe who has been a part of the Macarthur Football Referees Association for the past six years has officiated at all levels of the game, including the National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s Competition.
A part of the Football NSW Referees Academy, she has also been chosen as part of a elite group to travel to Dallas in the USA later this year to officiate the Dallas Cup, a tournament which will see her be given the opportunity to rub shoulders with other FIFA officials throughout the duration of the competition.
Despite all her accolades on the pitch, away from the field Chloe is also seen as a mentor amongst her peers within the community and has become a highly regarded individual.
General Manager of Macarthur Football Association Salv Carmusciano credits Chloe’s dedication to her craft.
‘Her commitment to her own training and willingness to give up spare time to assist with the younger referees in the Macarthur District Football Referees Association, despite her own young age, demonstrates a maturity and commitment to football.’
Football NSW would like to formally congratulate Chloe on her award, which she received this at the FFA International Women’s Day ceremony this morning in the city.
