Valentine Sports Park was a hive of activity as Football NSW’s headquarters recently hosted the 2019 Sydney West Girls and Boys Football Carnival.

The Boys took centre stage on Monday 1st of April and no fools jokes were played on the day as some quality football was on display.

Eleven districts competed with the likes of Castle Hill, Blue Mountains, Blacktown, Wentworthville/Seven Hills, Parramatta/Merrylands, St Marys, Auburn, Ridges, Penrith, Mt Druitt and Hawkesbury all participated.

It was down to two teams who were left to battle it out for the coveted Championship as Penrith took on Castle Hill with both teams coming into the final undefeated.

It was however the Penrith young guns that reigned supreme taking out the match 1-0.

The tournament was also used to select players to represent Sydney West at the NSW PSSA Carnival in Bathurst later this year.

The Girls then finished off what the Boys started on Wednesday 3rd of April as they also shined with some amazing displays of skill as once more, eleven districts took part in the prestigious competition.

This time it was yet another two undefeated teams in the shape of Wentworthville/Seven Hills taking on Blue Mountains in the big dance. It was the girls from Wentworthville/Seven Hills that proved too strong as two early goals was enough to see them through clinching the Championship 2-0.

Like the Boys, selectors were on hand to select a Sydney West combined team bound for the 2019 NSW PSSA Carnival in Lismore in Term 2.
