Winner takes all as Round 7 FFA Cup draw announced

R9 Stallions v Olympic

The stage has been set as Football NSW officially announced the seventh and final round of the Preliminary stages of the FFA Cup with some massive match-ups, none more so than Sydney Olympic taking on the Marconi Stallions headlining the line-up.

Paul Dee’s Manly United side will be out to ruin the in-form and on fire Rockdale City Suns outfit at Cromer Park while the high flying Wollongong Wolves were drawn to face fellow National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s outfit Mt Druitt Town Rangers.

National Premier Leagues 2 NSW Men’s side Northern Tigers face a tricky tie as they travel to Edensor Park where they will be challenging Sydney United 58.

Probably one of the more intriguing battles will be when National Premier Leagues 3 NSW Men’s side Dulwich Hill FC battle National Premier Leagues 2 club St George FC.

But the glamour tie that is set to dominate Round 7 will be when two former National Soccer League foes lock horns as Abbas Saad’s Sydney Olympic host the might of Peter Tsekenis’ Marconi Stallions.

The five (5) winners of each of the ties will then go on to represent NSW at the Round of 32 of the FFA Cup where they will come up against teams from across Australia including Hyundai A-League clubs.

Matches have been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 29 May or Wednesday, 5 June with Football NSW to announce these shortly.
