Round 10 features some pulsating contests in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens competition headlined by a top of the table clash between Dural Warriors and Sydney Futsal Club. Outside of that, the three more exciting contests will light up courts across Sydney in another exciting weekend of futsal action.

Match of the Round: Sydney Futsal Club vs Dural Warriors, Saturday 23 November, 5:30pm, All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre

This weekend’s Match of the Round sees leaders Dural Warriors head to All Sorts Indoor Sports Centre to take on their main challengers Sydney Futsal Club on Saturday night.

The Dural Warriors extended their streak to nine with a comfortable 4-1 success against Phoenix Futsal Club while Sydney Futsal Club were forced to share the points after their 3-3 draw with West City Crusaders.

Saturday brings together the two sides with the best records in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens competition. After a slow start, Sydney Futsal Club take a six-game unbeaten run into the game and with Morgan Maxwell and Jess Meads could see them break the streak.

The issue is finding a way past the Warriors though. Their defense continues to be rock solid and make them a hard side to extract anything from. Rob Varela has the young side firing on all cylinders and could take another step to an unbeaten season on Saturday.

West City Crusaders vs SD Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 23 November, 4:50pm, Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium

Sixth hosts seventh with West City Crusaders taking on SD Raiders Futsal Saturday afternoon with both sides looking to get back in the win column.

The Crusaders picked up their eighth point of the year when they produced a second half comeback to split with the in-form Sydney Futsal Club 3-3. SD Raiders Futsal had a forgettable afternoon in an 11-1 defeat to local rivals Raiders Futsal Club.

Last time out, SD Raiders Futsal blew past West City Crusaders early on the way to an 8-2 result. Crusaders will eye some revenge with the visitors below them in the standings and ripe for picking off. Dione King and Kaitlin Harms are in-form for the Crusaders and it will take a big effort for SD Raiders Futsal to take something from the contest.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs South Coast Taipans, Saturday 23 November, 5:25pm, PCYC Hornsby

Phoenix Futsal Club look to keep their finals hopes alive taking on third place South Coast Taipans at PCYC Hornsby on Saturday evening.

The Taipans produced their “best effort of the season” in their 4-nil victory against Sydney City Eagles whilst Phoenix Futsal Club were the latest to fall by the sword of Dural Warriors which ended up 4-nil as well.

South Coast Taipans are close to making it back-to-back finals appearances, comfortably in third and putting it all together at the right end of the season. Ashley Kotevski has added another scoring option for the south coast side alongside Lisa Prior and Kya Stewart make them a tough task for anyone.

For the home side, the holy grail of finals is within their grasp despite the back-to-back losses which has them sat in fifth spot. Isabel Gomez is the talisman for the side with 11 goals thus far and if she fires could see the Phoenix rise into the top four.

Raiders Futsal Club vs Sydney City Eagles, Saturday 23 November, 5:40pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

Fourth place Raiders Futsal Club aim to keep the good times rolling as they face Sydney City Eagles Saturday night at Thomas Hassell Anglican College.

Raiders Futsal Club hold onto fourth spot after their 11-1 thrashing of local rivals SD Raiders Futsal last weekend while Sydney City Eagles battled hard but were overpowered by South Coast Taipans 4-nil in the Match of the Round.

Back-to-back victories with 17 goals in the back of the net has Raiders Futsal Club buoyed headed into the contest on the weekend. Nicole Ossio, Amanda Radmillo and Vanessa Ciabatti all find the scoresheet regularly and Raiders are starting to look like a contender once again headed into the finals series.

Sydney City Eagles whilst the results haven’t materialised aren’t pushovers every week. The Eagles had their chances against Taipans but in Jess Beale and Montana Bolzan, they can punish sides if they don’t bring 100% commitment against the side.
