It was a moment many of Hakoah FC’s SAP, Under 13’s, Under 14’s and Under 15’s footballers will remember for quite some time as Israeli international and Wellington Phoenix star striker Tomer Hemed graced them with his presence at Hensley Athletic Field recently.

The 33-year-old marksman who played for the likes of Mallorca, Almeria, Brighton & Hove Albion, Queens Park Rangers and Maccabi Haifa to name a few was a special guest as he spoke to each team and its players and went into detail on what it takes to make it to the big stage as well as chatting about his career.

The young Hakoah stars were in awe of Hamad who this week became the first ever Israeli to score in the A-League for the Phoenix.

A proud Australian club with Jewish roots, Hakoah FC were delighted to have had Hemed play a pivotal role in promoting the world game to its young and up and coming stars.
