Craig Kiely departs Football St George
Football St George has confirmed that CEO, Craig Kiely, has resigned from his position effective as of 3 September 2021.
Kiely, who commenced with FSG in the role of General Manager in November 2015, will leave the organisation to take up a position working on the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.
“It was a privilege to be the first person employed by the Association as General Manager back in 2015, however the time is now right for me to move on to a fresh challenge.” Kiely stated.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time, and we have achieved a great deal in the past 6 years. I am certainly proud of my contribution, and I know that I leave the organisation in a much stronger position.
“The Associations foundations are now very sound, and the platform is there for a new person to work with the Board and Clubs to achieve the strategic goals and objectives that are in place for FSG.” Kiely said.
In finishing up at the Association, Kiely has expressed his sincere gratitude to the FSG Board, member clubs, staff, Referees Branch, Standing Committees, Strategic Working Groups, Councils (Bayside, Georges River), sponsors and Patrons.
FSG Chair, Irene Hatzipetros, paid tribute to Kiely’s contribution.
“Over the past six years, Craig’s stewardship of FSG has been characterised by innovative ideas, strategic thinking and positive commitment to increase the visibility and credibility of FSG.” Hatzipetros said.
“The resulting recognition has become a major asset to FSG, and the relationships Craig has fostered with our club delegates, members, staff, board both past and present, and all stakeholders, will ensure FSG will prosper and advance the continuous growth of football played in our region.
“By all measures, FSG has improved on Craig’s watch with cementing the confidence of our stakeholders, increasing our membership, building a talented and committed team to support the organisation, enhancing the quality and impact of the FSG Board, pursuing dramatic improvements and access to facilities, and improving the financial stability of FSG.” Hatzipetros concluded.
The FSG Board will soon confirm its position moving forward with regards to the vacancy at FSG following Craig’s resignation.
