It was an evening that 25 young Tibetan football youngsters from Dee Why will cherish forever as they took in the entire Socceroos experience thanks to a grant funded MiniRoos settlement program at Accor Stadium on Thursday evening.

Even though the script did not go to plan seeing Japan thwart Australia’s dreams of automatically qualifying for this year’s World Cup in Qatar, the memories that were made that evening for the 25 lucky Tibetan young footballers will be one they’ll always cherish.

“The smiles on each of their faces said it all,” said Football NSW’s Junior Participation Coordinator Jackson Chesser.

“Along with their siblings and parents, a total of 55 tickets were given via our grant funded MiniRoos settlement program in conjunction with Football Australia towards the Tibetan community in Dee Why.

“It was moments like these that really bring the word ‘The World Game’ to life.”

Along with Chesser, Football NSW’s Inclusion and Diversity Coordinator Annabel Meadley was also on hand along with various Game Development Officers who ensured the running of this went off without a hitch.
