Futsal Premier League Open Men’s Round 1 Reveiw
It’s back! Although a reduced slate, there was plenty of goal-mouth action in round one of the Futsal Premier League Open Men’s competition.
Mountain Majik secured a good win over Eastern Suburbs Hakoah in our season opener before UTS Northside put 8 past Macarthur Quake later in the night.

Mountain Majik and Eastern Suburbs Hakoah kicked off the season in style with an eight-goal thriller with Majik emerging victorious.
Two quickfire Majik goals in and around the 25th minute proved the difference between the two sides in the fixture.
Earlier in the match, the Majik took an early lead through goals to Christopher Barbera and Alexander Vlismas put them in the lead ten minutes in.
However some sloppiness began to creep into their performance and the visitors were too good a side to let them get away with it. James Reed and Emmanuel Tzanakes finding the back of the net for them.
A goal to either side through Jordan Guerreiro and Vinicius Costa Janjacomo bring us to the halftime score of 3-3.
Guerrerio then going on to score Majik’s fourth before Connor Hewit added the fifth and final goal on 25 minutes. The hosts then hanging on for the victory.
Majik next face Enfield Allstars away from home while Hakoah have their first home game hosting Macarthur Quake.
UTS Northside Futsal Club 8 defeat Macarthur Quake Futsal 3
UTS Northside kicked off their season in style with an emphatic home victory over Macarthur Quake at PCYC Dee Why.
Partly expected for the first game of the campaign, the first half of this one turned into a physical affair with both sides evenly matched. However, the hosts were just that bit more clinical in front of goal with Harry Oates, Ben Gibson and Grant Lynch finding the back of the net in the opening half.
However, the Quake were perhaps unlucky to go in behind with the visitors missing a guilt edged opportunity and a 10-metre chance in the first half.
And it would end up costing them as UTS Northside were clinical on the break throughout the second half. Grant Lynch adding another couple to his tally, Nathan Amore scoring a double while Eddie Caspers ghosted in for a goal of his own.
While Saharat Sae-Tang and Lury Dorneles found the back of the net for the Quake either side of halftime. They employed a fifth man for the last ten minutes, but Northside’s defense held firm to see out the victory.
UTS Northside hosts the second of a four-game home stretch next weekend, taking on the Mascot Vipers. While Macarthur Quake have another away game against Eastern Suburbs Hakoah.
Dural Warriors v Enfield Allstars and Mascot Vipers v Boomerangs FS to be played at a later date.
