The Futsal Premier League 2 Open Womens competition heads into Round 5 full of intriguing matchups to enjoy across Saturday afternoon. We have four matches ready to go and help shake out the ladder after this weekend.

South Coast Taipans vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 14 October, 2:50pm, Illawarra Hockey Centre

Kicking off the weekend is South Coast Taipans taking on SD Raiders Futsal at Illawarra Hockey Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Taipans suffered their second loss in the season with their 4-2 defeat to Sydney Futsal Club at home last weekend.

Last time the Taipans were beaten, they went into the next game and scored double digits so they will be keen from the opening whistle.

Both Bronte Trew and Lulu Lozano have been in goalscoring form and keen to add to their tally on Saturday afternoon.

SD Raiders Futsal won 10-2 against Phoenix Futsal Club in their home game at Thomas Hassell Anglican College.

Buoyed by their first win last weekend, SD Raiders Futsal will be ready to make it back-to-back successes and burst into the top four.

Dione King scored four goals in that win and the attacker can add further to her goal tally in the trip down the highway.

Raiders Futsal Club welcome leaders Sydney City Eagles to Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts come into this game off an exciting 5-5 draw against West City Crusaders at PCYC Hawkesbury last weekend.

After a rough start, Raiders Futsal Club have found their footing this season and keen to add further to their tally at home.

They will look to both Gemma Morgan and Gemma Bartolillio to find the back of the net and lead to more success.

Sydney City Eagles stamped their authority in a 6-1 win over APIA FC Futsal in last week’s Match of the Round.

The league leaders were one of the dark horses headed into the season and showed they will be a force against any team in the FPL2 Open Womens competition.

The Eagles have plenty of firepower in their line-up including Sheiden Jabour has linked up well with Arddun Surjan recently in front of goal.

West City Crusaders vs APIA FC Futsal, Saturday 14 October, 3:50pm, PCYC Hawkesbury

West City Crusaders take on high flying APIA FC Futsal in their game at PCYC Hawkesbury on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders picked up their first points in a 5-5 draw against Raiders Futsal Club at PCYC Hawkesbury last weekend.

Another home game gives them the opportunity to build on last week’s performance and start their march towards the top four.

Cassidy Chambers was a standout for the Crusaders in the draw last weekend and hopes to add to her three goals in this game.

APIA FC Futsal were beaten 6-1 in last weekend’s Match of the Round against leaders Sydney City Eagles.

The visitors weren’t at their fluid best in the defeat and will be keen to bounce back in the travels to Windsor on Saturday.

They will look to Taiana Almeida Silva and Lauren Featherstone to push them forward towards their third win of the FPL2 Open Womens season.

Phoenix Futsal Club vs Sydney Futsal Club, Saturday 14 October, 5:10pm, The Centre – Dural

Phoenix Futsal Club face off against surging Sydney Futsal Club down at The Centre – Dural on Saturday night.

The hosts will want to bounce back after their 10-2 loss to SD Raiders Futsal at Thomas Hassell Anglican College last weekend.

They have picked up four points thus far in 2023 and will want to get something against the high-flying Sydney Futsal Club.

Sydney Futsal Club went down to the Illawarra Hockey Centre after beating South Coast Taipans 4-2 last weekend.

They showed they will be one of the top teams in the FPL2 Open Womens competition and aim for back-to-back wins on Saturday.

The combination between Leila Szczepanik and Annalise Schiraldi will be key to their fortunes going forward and finding the back of the net.
