Promising Football NSW referees Mikayla Ryan and Isabella Mossin had a festive season to remember, making their debuts as referees in the A-League Women’s (ALW) competition.

Mikayla Ryan began her refereeing journey on the Central Coast as a part of Woongarrah’s cadet program before completing her Level 4 qualification. Since then, she has progressed through the Football NSW Referee Academy and made her debut on the ALW as a fourth official in 2021.

After a number of seasons officiating in the Football NSW landscape, Mikayla was recognised as the Referee of the Year for the NPL NSW Women’s competition for the 2023 season.

On 23 December 2023, Mikayla took charge of her first game in the middle on the Round 9 ALW match between Wellington Phoenix and Newcastle Jets at Sky Stadium in New Zealand.

Another graduate of the Football NSW Referee Academy, Isabella Mossin originates from North West Sydney Football Referees Association. She joined the ALW referees panel as a fourth official in the 22/23 season after excelling as a referee for the NPL NSW Women’s competition.

Isabella made her ALW debut as a referee on 22 December 2023, on the Round 9 clash between Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar at Leichhardt Oval.

Congratulations to both Mikayla and Isabella on achieving this milestone in their careers.
