Heart Health Round is back for its second year with Clubs and Associations encouraged to ‘Make it Red!’ from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th April 2024.

An initiative of the Heartbeat of Football Foundation, the national awareness campaign aims to turn sporting grounds across Australia RED for heart disease and sudden cardiac arrest.

Funds raised from the weekend supports life-saving research and helps strive towards achieving zero heart-related deaths on the sporting ground.

As further incentive to get involved and raise valuable funds, prizes are on offer to the top fundraising clubs with first prize being a Staying Alive Health AED package valued at $4990.

“It was fantastic to see so many Football NSW clubs supporting the inaugural MakeitRed campaign in 2023,” said Football NSW CEO John Tsatsimas.

“We want football to be accessible for all so it is important we are promoting positive health choices and ensuring safe sporting environments across the state.

“I look forward to seeing more clubs getting involved in Heart Health Round this year.”

In 2023, 38 Football NSW Clubs signed up to ‘Make it Red’, with Heartbeat of Football aiming for over 100 clubs across NSW in 2024.

“The inaugural #MakeitRed campaign exceeded expectations on many fronts,” said Heartbeat of Football founder Andy Paschalidis.

“This demonstrates the community spirit across the football family and that this initiative to tackle serious issues in a fun environment resonates far and wide.”
