Finals bound at the National Futsal Championships

Day 3 of the 2025 National Futsal Championships saw a packed crowd fill into the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Melbourne as most group stages came to a close.
The competition was fierce across 50 games on seven courts, with Football NSW teams amongst those battling through to the knockout rounds and one step closer to a championship.
Selena Misfud showcased an extraordinary individual effort for Football NSW Thunder in the U13 Girls, netting six goals in a 10-0 rout over Football Queensland White, with both Thunder and Lightning topping their groups.
Football NSW Thunder topped the U15 Girls group stage undefeated, finishing with an astonishing +25 goal difference, while Football NSW’s U17 Girls showed their dominance, with the Storm, Lightning and Thunder teams all holding spots in the top four after their group stage performances.
Also finishing the day with strong performances were the U13 Boys Thunder, defeating Victoria Navy 5-1, and the U16 Boys Lightning who downed Victoria 10-1.
In the Youth division, Football NSW Thunder overwhelmed Football NSW Country in a lopsided 18-0 victory where three players scored four goals each (George Papadakis, Jyden Harb and Emmanuel Loaiza) in a commanding performance.
The Open Men’s competition saw Football NSW Thunder down Queensland 10-3 to finish second in the group, while Lightning drew 4-4 with Football West.
Meanwhile in the final Open Women’s round, Football NSW Lightning and Thunder finished with victories over Capital Football Gold (4-1) and Queensland White (4-0) respectively, both finishing second in their group.
A host of Football NSW teams will appear in the finals beginning on Saturday.
