Sapphire Cup Round 3 Draw Announced

The hype surrounding Football NSW’s first ever women’s knockout Cup tournament namely the ‘Sapphire Cup’ lived up to its expectations as association clubs across the state alongside League One and National Premier Leagues NSW Women’s sides participated in Round’s 1 and 2 recently.

The Round 3 draw of the Sapphire Cup was announced on Friday as 16 entertaining matches were drawn.

Association clubs such as Coogee United, Sporting Rovers, Bulli FC, Lokomotiv Cove, Seaforth FC, Terrigal United FC, Lindfield FC, Dunbar Rovers, Albion Park White Eagles, Umina United FC, Miranda Magpies, Brookvale FC as well as Abercrombie FC/Woonona JFC all remain in the hunt for creating more magical Cup memories.

“We could not have asked for a better start to the Sapphire Cup,” said Football NSW’s Competitions Coordinator Wade Giovenali.

“It was fantastic to see teams from all levels getting behind our first ever journey into the Cup as we anticipate that there may be a few more Association clubs hoping to cause upsets in the hope of landing themselves in the final.”
