Round 14 Review – League Two Men’s

The League Two Men’s competition continued to get tighter in Round 14 of the 2026 season, just three points separating 2nd from 8th as the competition inches nearer to the halfway mark.

The Match of the Round this week saw Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC come from behind and continue their strong form away to Inner West Hawks FC.

 

Match of the Round: Inner West Hawks FC 2-4 Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC

A strong second-half performance saw Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC come from behind to earn a hard-fought 4-2 away win over Inner West Hawks FC in the Match of the Round.

The Hawks came out firing through Bonmyeong Koo in just the 2nd minute of the match, scoring to take an early 1-0 lead.

Following chances for both sides, Bonnyrigg struck back through their top goal scorer for the season, Asmir Kadric, who continued his form with a goal to level the match at 1-1 at half-time.

Andrej Poljcic found the back of the net four minutes after the break to give Bonnyrigg the lead for the first time in the match, before Tristian Vidic scored his sixth goal of the season in the 57th minute to give Bonnyrigg a 3-1 lead.

Kadric completed his double in the 68th minute to all-but secure the win for the White Eagles, a late consolation goal for the Hawks through Peter Yannopoulos not enough for the Hawks, Bonnyrigg running out 4-2 winners.

The loss for Inner West was their third in a row as they dropped to 10th on the ladder, while the win for Bonnyrigg was their fourth in a row as they continued their resurgence and rose to 3rd on the ladder.

Mounties Wanderers FC 4-0 Hawkesbury City FC

A big second-half performance from Mounties Wanderers FC saw them extend their lead atop the ladder with a big 4-0 home win over Hawkesbury City FC.

Mounties came out strongly in the second half, Kento Awano netting for the fifth time in seven weeks to give the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute, before doubling it in the 69th minute.

Mitchell Van Der Saag added a decisive third goal for the hosts in the 87th minute before substitute Garang Awac added a goal off the bench in stoppage time to round out a 4-0 win for the ladder leaders.

The win for Mounties saw them extend their lead to 14 points at the top of the ladder, while the loss for Hawkesbury was their first in five matches.

Nepean FC 0-3 Central Coast United FC

Central Coast United FC picked up their second win of the season and their first since the opening round, securing a third clean sheet from their past five matches in a big 3-0 away win over Nepean FC.

Following a tight first half with chances for both sides, the deadlock in the match was broken after half-time in the 62nd minute when a dangerous cross into the box was met by a lunging Levi Green who, in an attempt to stop the cross from reaching a Central Coast attacker, looped the ball into the back of his own net, giving Central Coast a 1-0 lead.

Central Coast doubled their lead in the 77th minute following strong build-up play, Matthew Hatch receiving the ball outside the box and taking on the shot; the ball took a deflection, wrong-footing Nepean goalkeeper Samuel Jansons and finding the back of the net.

The Pirates rounded out the 3-0 win in the 87th minute when team play down the left saw a delivery into the box find Jesse Roder, who slotted the ball home to seal Central Coast’s victory.

Bankstown United FC 1-0 Dunbar Rovers FC

Bankstown United FC won a third match from their past five to hand Dunbar Rovers FC back-to-back defeats in a tight 1-0 home win.

Bankstown took the lead in the first half in the 39th minute on transition, Mitchell Cross finding space in behind, getting onto the ball and slotting it home to give Bankstown the 1-0 advantage.

Dunbar could not find the same inspiration going forward, unable to get back into the match, with Bankstown running out 1-0 winners.

The win for Bankstown saw them rise to 9th on the ladder, while Dunbar missed their chance to rise to 4th, dropping to 7th on what is a tight ladder as the season heads towards the halfway mark.

Parramatta FC 0-0 Fraser Park FC

A tough battle between two sides near the top of the league saw neither team able to break the deadlock in a tight 0-0 draw between Parramatta FC and Fraser Park FC.

Parramatta’s best chance of the match came in the first half through Darragh Reynor, who hit the crossbar off a free kick, while for Fraser Park their moment came in the 75th minute through Francis Mcalpine, who sent a shot just wide of the goal.

Neither side was able to create many meaningful chances in the match as the two sides settled for a point each.

The draw for Parramatta saw them drop to 4th on the ladder, trailing Fraser Park by one point in 2nd place.

Gladesville Ryde Magic 3-1 South Coast Flame FC

Gladesville Ryde Magic won their first match in seven, grabbing a big 3-1 home win over South Coast Flame FC, who saw their momentum near the top of the ladder halted.

Gladesville took a 1-0 lead from a corner in the 3rd minute, Liam Gurner tapping the ball in at the far post, before the Flame levelled the match in the 11th minute through Jordan Roberts, who scored from 25 yards out direct off a free kick.

Despite chances to the Flame, Gladesville took the lead once more in the 39th minute through Ryan French, who got on the end of a long ball and slotted it home for a 2-1 Magic lead.

Gladesville secured all three points in the 70th minute through Ewan Perrott, who curled the ball into the top corner of the goal from outside the box for a 3-1 Magic lead, the Flame missing a penalty in the 90th minute through Jordan Roberts, the Magic coming away victorious.

Camden Tigers FC 2-3 Granville Rage

Granville Rage held off a comeback from Camden Tigers FC to secure a 3-2 away win, their third-straight head-to-head win over Camden.

Granville took an early 1-0 lead in the 5th minute through Mitchell Whalley, before Ante Tomic doubled the Rage’s lead in the 38th minute.

A high-speed match saw Camden pull a goal back in the 43rd minute through Leandro Carle, before they levelled the match at 2-2 in the 53rd minute through Leandro Guzman.

However, the Tigers switched off from the restart, the Rage finding the winner less than three minutes later through Charles Eriku to secure a big 3-2 away win to put themselves within one point of 2nd place.
