Southern Districts Grand Finals relocate to Ernie Smith Reserve
?The situation is a rare clash of commitments which was unexpected as it was dependant on results from last Sunday?s Preliminary Semi Final between Marconi and the Sutherland Sharks,? stated Marconi Stallions? Football Manager Paul Saliba.
?Our Association?s Grand Finals hold a special place within Club Marconi?s sporting calendar. We know what this facility means to players, their families and the importance of playing at Marconi Stadium.
?This was a decision which was not easy to reach?.
The decision was made jointly by the Management Committee of Southern Districts and Club Marconi, as both organisations know the importance of both events, which must proceed unhindered.
Southern Districts? Grand Final days have been hosted by Club Marconi for many years.
Club Marconi was looking forward in staging the two-day event at Marconi Stadium, with the Fairfield Colts FC (The baby Stallions) featuring in three Grand Finals.
With the Marconi Stallions due to face Manly United FC in the Minor Semi Final (losing teams to be eliminated) on Saturday, both parties were left with no option other than to find an alternative venue.
?We?d like to wish all teams participating in the Southern District Grand Finals the best of luck this weekend and look forward to having them back at Marconi Stadium again next season.

The Southern Districts Girls Grand Final matches scheduled for Marconi Stadium and Field 2 on September 6 will go ahead as planned.
