Macallister, 30, has signed a two-year deal to link up with Heart and follows the arrivals of attackers Josip Tadic and former Gold Coast United speedster Golgol Mebrahtu.
An imposing central striker, Macallister?s arrival provides added depth in the final third of the park, offering an accomplished alternative at the heart of attack.
With Macallister?s signing bringing Heart one step closer to completing its squad for the upcoming season, Head Coach John Aloisi said the former Young Socceroo brings a complete look to the side?s attack.
?Dylan is certainly a player who is going to add depth and support to our squad. He?s a different type of player to the attacking options we currently have up front in that he is a strong physical presence, who is also capable of taking up dangerous positions in the penalty box.
?He has a lot of experience to bring to the Club. We played together at the Mariners and I?m looking forward to working with him. I know he is a great character and will certainly allow the younger guys to walk taller.?
Having enjoyed a decade-long career at the professional level, Macallister arrives at Heart following stints with Gold Coast United and Icelandic club Brei?ablik UBK, where he scored during a UEFA Champions League qualifier against Norwegian giants Rosenborg BK last season.
A member of the Joeys side which succumbed on penalties to Brazil in the final of the 1999 FIFA U/17 World Championship, Macallister has been a regular member of the national set-up at both youth and senior level, featuring in Socceroo squads under former coach Pim Verbeek.
Macallister scored four times in seven appearances for the Rockdale City Suns before parting company with the NSW Premier League side.
