WS Wanderers FC Media Release: NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers FC call Parramatta Stadium home

The announcement of Parramatta Stadium as the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers FC home ground comes after an overwhelming amount of support for the venue from the fans throughout the fan forums and online surveys conducted throughout Western Sydney during May and June.
?We have maintained from the very beginning that the future direction of our club will wherever possible be built for and by the people of Western Sydney,? said Mr Gorman.
?The strong feedback from the in-depth consultation process we have undertaken through our various fan forums and surveys has told us strongly that Parramatta needed to be our home playing venue.
?We are equally excited about the strategic direction of Venues NSW and its future aspirations for the enhancement and development of Parramatta Stadium.
?We have committed to working together in a partnership model with the Management at the Stadium with a view to growing our membership base, crowds and corporate partners in the mutual interest of all parties and we are genuinely excited about the possibilities in that regard,? concluded Mr. Gorman.
NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation, Graham Annesley, was equally pleased to announce that the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers FC will call Parramatta Stadium the Club?s home ground for the next five years.
?Today?s announcement will create a huge buzz throughout Western Sydney as another sporting code has identified the region as a rich source of talent,? Mr Annesley said.
?Football is the largest participation sport in the country with the Western Sydney Wanderers to play their inaugural A-League match against the Central Coast Mariners at Parramatta Stadium in early October.
?I congratulate Lyall Gorman and his team for the professional manner in which they have handled the negotiations and the NSW Government is looking forward to a very long and successful working relationship,? Mr Annesley added.
Meanwhile NRMA Insurance were unveiled as the Naming Rights and Major Sponsor of the Western Sydney Wanderers FC for their inaugural Hyundai A-League season.
The 3-year partnership with one of Australia?s leading Insurance companies provides a firm foundation for Australia?s newest, oldest professional football club.
The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers FC Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman said that the partnership with NRMA Insurance is a perfect fit for the club.
?NRMA Insurance has such a distinguished history and proud association with Western Sydney. To secure this blue-chip company as our first Naming Rights and Major Sponsor is a huge coup for this club,? said Gorman.
