Sydney United 58 FC recovered from a one-goal deficit to run riot against Rockdale City at home, as Sutherland Sharks all but saluted its hopes of playing finals football with a home loss to Parramatta FC.
Both Manly United FC and APIA-Leichhardt Tigers recorded important victories as Blacktown City?s loss in Leichhardt somewhat compromises  the side?s run home with a difficult fixture list over the coming three weeks.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles 3 Marconi Stallions 0
Bonnyrigg White Eagles further strengthened its grip on top-spot with a superb showing to send Marconi Stallions packing on Saturday evening. The 3-0 result suggests a one-sided affair, and despite the Stallions scrapping away for the first 54? minutes to keep the scores level, it was definitely a match dominated by Brian Brown?s men.
Bonnyrigg?s opener arrived via the penalty-spot after Adrian Ucchino ? one of the stand out performers on the night ? chased down what seemed a hopeless cause before being fouled by Ali Haydar. Striker Robbie Younis took responsibility from the penalty-spot and he calmly sent James Chronopoulos the wrong way.
Ucchino, Ken Chun and Harris Gaitatzis continued to press for the home side, and it was Chun to net the White Eagles? second. The midfielder brought a long ball down with an exquisite first touch before shaking his marker and driving the ball into the bottom left-hand corner.
Chun turned provider with a fabulous assist for Aleksander Canak late on in the contest. Canak had the easiest of tasks as he slotted home past an exposed Chronopoulos in the Stallions goal.
South Coast Wolves 0 Sydney Olympic 1
Reigning champions Sydney Olympic made a massive point in its charge to finish in the top-two, defeating South Coast Wolves to take sole hold of second-spot on the ladder.
Both sides traded blows in an entertaining encounter however it was the experience of the Sydney Olympic players that saw the Blues prevail.
The only goal of the night arrived shortly before the hour mark as Chris Triantis was fouled inside the penalty-area by Nick Littler, leaving the referee with no choice but to award the penalty.
Captain Phil Makrys, who missed from the penalty-spot in Round 18 against Blacktown City FC, made no mistake this weekend as he drove his attempt into the top right-hand corner.
The Wolves went close to grabbing an equaliser late-on via Sasho Petrovski, though Sydney Olympic held on for the win, adding a three-point buffer over the third-placed Wolves on the League ladder.
Sutherland Sharks 2 Parramatta FC 3
Sutherland Sharks kissed goodbye any slight chance it may have had of reaching the finals this season on Saturday evening after the side went down to Parramatta FC at Seymour Shaw ? the Sharks? second loss to Lee Sterrey?s men this season.
Despite Klim Gjorseski driving home from a spilt Matthew Nash save on 24? minutes, the Eagles found an equaliser via Patrick Dixon early in the second-half.
The visitors took the lead in the 76? minute following a poor Sharks clearance out of defence. Akiyoshi Saito was on the spot to pick up the ball and slot home past Nathan Denham, however the lead last only 60?? seconds.
At the other end, Panni Nikas somehow managed to steer his shot past Nash to restore parity, though as the Sharks looked to press for a goal to keep its hopes of playing finals football alive, Parramatta FC netted an incredible winner. Youngster Daniel Rezo scored a tremendous free-kick in the 81? minute past Denham, ending Sutherland?s brave bid and securing a second consecutive win for Parramatta FC who hope to move off the foot of the table before the season?s end.
Manly United FC 2 Blacktown Spartans 1
At Cromer Park, Manly United FC scored its first back-to-back win of the season with a come-from-behind effort against Blacktown Spartans.
The 90? minutes of football failed to reach any great heights, however the win is welcomed news for the Northern Beaches side.
Andre Carle headed the Spartans ahead at the near post in only the 5? minute, however Manly United drew level 15? minutes later as Adam Foti deflected Matt Sim?s hopeful shot past Blacktown Spartans goalkeeper, Carlos Saliadarre.
The match winner arrived for the home side shortly after the half-time break via Michael Daly. Daly ghosted in at the back post to head home a pinpoint cross to seal the win.
APIA-Leichhardt Tigers 1 Blacktown City FC 0
The Tigers scored a vital 1-0 win at home on Sunday afternoon to ease the pressure on a Leichhardt side that has been facing the harsh reality of relegation after a difficult season thus far.
The showing on Sunday afternoon against the 2010 champions was one of desperation as the Tigers put their bodies on the line to find the win.
Adam Casey was the match-winner with a well taken finish after latching onto Brad Bartels through ball. Casey showed composure as he picked his moment to slot home into the bottom corner.
The afternoon took a turn for the worse for the Tigers goal scorer as he was shown a straight red card for an altercation with Blacktown City?s Travis Major. The striker?s sending off was a real dampener for the afternoon as the Tigers have three more ?finals? to play before the end of the season to collect as many points as possible in the process.
Sydney United 58 FC 3 Rockdale City Suns 1
A Luka Glavas inspired Sydney United recorded a phenomenal come from behind win to collect three-points against Rockdale City Suns. After falling a goal behind to Alec Urosevski?s late first-half strike, the Reds clinched the tie in 5? sensational second-half minutes.
Glavas combined with Mirjan Pavlovic to net the equaliser with a world class finish before Pavlovic had the home supporters on their feet with a sensational 30-yard low-driven effort.
Substitute Jared Lum sealed the win with a third goal in the 65? minute, cleverly latching onto Glavas? through ball before converting with a fine angled finish.
